Unfortunately you are not alone, I'm still waiting for securerom to fix this.No reply from them in two days.So guess they don't know what is cousing their shitty protection not working anymore.

I also tried out the following, but still does not work and first reboot brought up a BSOD. Well, for the first time I won't be able to play a game I paid for Â

open the registry editor (Start->Run->regedit) and move to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices\ area (by clicking on this folder, you will see all the entries on the right side); delete all REG_BINARY entries in this folder (only blue ones on the right side). Reboot your computer immediately, the entries will be re-established, and the game should start."

at this point there is nothing i can do, ive tried everything. i have Atari ver. 1.06, i am able to use the beta drivers but 1.08 is a lost cause, and im tired of reinstalling.

Same problem as everyone else. Game won't launch, no error or message. I've re-installed, deleted the registry keys, re-mapped drive letters, cleaned out temp folders/securom data, installed the KB924867 hotfix. Nothing works.

1.06 and 1.07 work, 1.08 does not.

tried everything here in this thread. Will not install Vista because I hate it. I am happy with my XP.

Hope they really care about their costumers the ones that bought the product and get us a fix to the problem.

Hi guys have been on lots of forums in regards to the 1.08, & i can tell you if BIS dont hurry up & get there shit to gether,ie. like pull there finger out of there ass ,as this patch, was as i thought been beta tested lol,& sort out the community with a fix to do with some serious issues,& also they are going to lose a lot of respect & lose a lot on customers,as there's a lot of f**king pissed of people out there & i dont blame them.

plus i dont care what type of pc set up you have as i have play all sorts of single & online games, & used all sort of differant spec types of pc's & that never have or even given me these types of problems, although would say i am luckier than most with "arma" as i can play online for a short amount of time lol ,all depending to the server that im on.

So it would also be fair to say that only real shit pc's & real noobs that are new to pc technology & internet gaming might have problems,other than that it is no thought to the knowledgable pc & online gamer that this game is f**ked up.

To those who keep saying it's not big deal, just don't patch it/go back to 1.06/1.07... think about this:

Without 1.08 installed there are no servers, or players who join your own hosted servers. You basically can't play the game with anyone else. I've not be able to find anyone running 1.07 or 1.06 after 1.08 came out. They are all 1.08 and so I can't play.

I wouldn't be as upset if it were not for that fact. I'm willing to deal with bugs in the 1.07 beta, but I have to play alone. To date, I've only read one official reply which said "either modify your registry or too bad." While this attitude is very bad, I did all the suggestions. Modified the reg, installed KB hotfixes, deleted temp files. Re-installed many, many, many times. All at the cost of hours of my free time to enjoy games. I understand problem happen, and am willing to cut a little slack. If you look, almost every one of the solutions is from a user trying to find a fix so they can play. How about the devs support us.

I'm done putting time into this. Either they come up with a fix, or I'll be forced to blacklist/boycott BIS.

At least have the courtesy to tell us you're working on it.

Will format my hard drive tomorrow... because of a poor protection and a bad costumer support... Will try to fix it my way. Will post the result tomorrow even if its negative.

right click on the shortcut then send the file to support@securom.com.
Had the same response Wednesday from Securom ("but will need to consult our developers to offer a solution.")

Along with many other paying customers on your forums I to am suffering from the same problems of the latest patch release of v108 DVD edition 505 Games UK.

Running on a Windows XP system.

Why is it not working? Completely failing to even start.

In one case flashing violently between black and white this is a serious health risk right here! See Da Rat's Post on page 24

Are these issues being tackled? especially the one above?

When can we expect comment on these issues from the developers themselves?

I've since managed to figure a little bit more out surrounding this no start issue, and have sent this mail to SecuROM;

Hi there,

I'm having trouble starting my Armed Assault UK DVD edition by 505 games, with secuROM protection,

the error I'm getting once trying to start the game is No Disc Please insert original CD/DVD into the drive etc,

But this error only displays itself if I right click on the shortcut and go to Run as.

If I simply just double left click on the shortcut or native exec file the drive spins up then spins down and the game

fails to start, displaying no errors.

Of course the disc is in the drive, so I tried your web sights suggested solution which was to pull up the command dos window

and to type in; dla disable f: which the command window completely failed to recognize this as a legitable command.

I have attached a analysis log file for you.

Well I have tried everything as well, even tried to run under Vista on my dual boot, same as everyone else.

I decided to do a full re-install of my machine today with just base drivers in the XP boot, and guess what!

Still the same, so the only thing it can be is the securom crap.

It's not just BI fault but the money grabbing Publishers, it would not suprise me if this new version of securom was added at the insistance of Atari.

And as for 505, you can't even email them as it just comes back, so no support from them then.

I have tried everything. I have the downloaded German version.

I have removed all my virtual drives and reinstalled the game completly.

No error, get the check marks the hour glass and nothing. Really pissing me off.

I have spent hours and hours trying to fix this issue with no luck.

I dont know if this will work for you guys but it worked for me:

-Right click the ARMA.exe shortcut and select 'Run as'

-Leave the 'Current user...' box ticked

-Untick the 'Protect me computer...' box.

-Click OK and it should work.

it will only fix the problem when people receive a "no disc error". There is still no fix at all for the no boot/no error issue. One week now without any support.

I also just tried that suggestion and still nothing.

I also just put in a brand new fresh installed ligit copy of Windows XP with nothing installed but Arma. Patched to 105 then 108 and still nothing so it really has nothing to do with what is installed on your system.

We are stuck until someone from BIS or securerom bother to help us.

Hmm, well that's what did it for me. The game wouldnt start - Id double click the shortcut and then watch the process start in Task Manager and then after 5sec turn off. Thats when I figured that out.

Are you guys sure your PC is powerful enough to run the game? I had this with BF2 on my old PC, it'd start but then turn off straight away.

Patch 1.08 doesn't boot thread
