Skaven 0 Posted May 30, 2007 It will probably be ready Friday, Saturday tops, I'm just finishing some small texture details I didn't like from the original ones, adding things here and there, sending my work to friends so they can check it with different gears and getting the most needed feedback from them, checking the editor, sounds, soldiers behavior when using this weapons, checking the normal mapping, cpp files, shadows, adjusting the animations some of them are pioneer (kind of thanks to SLX) so I must be extra careful here I'm also checking the lods a lot since I made them ofp style because this models are imported and I'm not a modeler and at the moment I have no modelers available to help me. Just to clarify, in terms of playability having the lods like they are now (ofp style - plain texture) isn't as good as it should be but it will be better in the next pack, still for now it's pretty alright, people won't notice a thing as they don't already with some of the addons they download (some of which do more harm than good to their games specially the bad coded ones) but fortunately that won't happen with this release even if it's not perfect yet (I'm a perfectionist). This addon will actually be a lite version of a main project I'm working on, in June/July I will release the entire pack, it's actually a Russian/Racs pack with lots of weapons, soldiers and vehicles. In that pack there will be something that BIS should have done which is adding some support vehicles for the Racs, you will have an M113 Ambulance 5t trucks and also some others but that's still being worked Also High Dispersion Weapons for all sides so people can have a choice on having larger firefights, something like JAM brought to us at ofp times, very nice for missions, specially if you mix HD with normal weapons, however in this version that won't be available. This is why it's taking a little bit more time, since you guys want this weapons now, I have to make lite JAM/Racs/Weapons pbo files, being sure that later when I update them with the huge pack I won't compromise any missions made so far. I need therefore to keep the structure of the huge pack on a smaller pack so I can say later to the persons using this addon "Please, if you are using my Lite Racs addon, just overight the old files with this new ones and everything will work perfectly". It's important to overight new versions and not making people delete this and that for the other to work, most people don't even read the readme file so it's better to be safe than sorry. The main goal of the future East/Racs pack is to give them at least as much weapons and vehicles as the West so we can have some balance here (a fighting chance), we have like 95% West addons being released for 5% percent East/Racs,so, even though I am totally West sided I feel like I should help balancing things instead of releasing more M4s and US soldiers. btw, thank you for the M14 sound, it rocks

Stewy 1 Posted June 5, 2007 Hey Skaven, Just a quick question Sir - is it just me or does the default M249 Saw feed in reverse? The belt seems to be moving back into the box when the gun is firing... Is there any way that this can be reversed? Is it a problem with the code? Thanks mate - just thought I'd ask. Stew

Skaven suggested that to be fixed in a patch. I hope BIS will.
