I set ALL ingame settings to "low" (not really acceptable on a 2x8800GTX, Core2Duo x6800 @ 3.4GHz, 2GB RAM). Then I added this to the shortcut for the game " -nosplash -maxmem=512". Voila, haven't had a crash since. Not sure what is causing it still, but at least the crashes have gone away. Hope this helps someone. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I lasted a good hour or so with the maxmem and low settings in place, but I'm sorry I can go play OFP with FREE 3rd party addons and have a better quality game! ...maybe I should, but I'd rather play ArmA that I have paid good money for! At first I thought it might be that AMD update on armedassault.info (to geeky for me to understand), or my spec had become too low over night. But if you had the same problems neutrix thats both of them ruled out! The only thing our computers have in common is 2Gb ram and a Nvidia Graphics card. Makake 0 Posted June 23, 2007 First: Had some problems with "out of memory"-error without any obvious reason (after months of playing). Lokalized the problem to be most probably caused by some messed-up config-files. At least I thought so. Deleted them, installed ArmA and 1.05/-1.08 patches. First it seemed to work fine. Then, crashes all the time. Like this: 2 minutes play, first freeze and heavy glitches. Half a minute play followed by more glitches. Landscape and textures can't be displayed in proper time = missing hills with floating rocks and alike, major freeze followed by CTD with error message. Might be that it has to do something with my hardware since bluescreens with "machine_check_exception"-error occured. But: only in ArmA! no other game shows performance lacks, glitches or breakdowns! WTF? BTW: adding maxmem=512 didn't help at all. I'm testing now 1.05 with addons&mods. vehicles or 3rd person views can't be displayed properly. I'm getting VERY COLOURFUL geometrical figures instead (no joke, it's a complete mess). After 2 new & complete installs I come to the conclusion that the 1.08 patch sucks big time for me. No chance getting ArmA to work on this one. For what reason ever (it worked for 2 weeks, until I got those weird "Out-of-memory"-errors to start with all this). I'm damned to stick with 1.05 and sacrifice all new additions after 1.05 (like those new islands, the a10... ) until BIS takes their time to make a patch that finally works. NetWalker 0 Posted July 31, 2007 I got all these ntdll.dll errors on my logs as well. My game crashes during any SP or MP session after 10-15 min. This is unacceptable. I paid for a game and I can't play it! This is the only game i am facing issues so far! I play other game like Stalker, R6 Vegas and GRAW2 and they all run smoothly.
