Unleashed2k 0 Posted May 18, 2007 Quote[/b] ]Dear Valued Customer, Thank you for your recent purchase of the ArmA: Combat Operations digital download. We would like to take this opportunity to let you know that the game is due to receive an update and that the Official Patch for the download version will soon be posted on both atarisupport.com and atari.com/arma. Please do not use any other ArmA patches - the Digital Download version of the game is slightly different from the retail version and installing a beta patch or other non-official patch may cause complications. I hope this doesn't disturb your enjoyment of the title too much and we appreciate your patience while Atari takes the necessary steps to bring your version of the game up to date. Once the final patch is ready it will be released for both the Boxed version and Download version simultaneously. It will be posted on atarisupport.com as well as atari.com/arma Currently there are no official supported patches for either versions of ArmA: Combat Operations. The final patch will work with both versions of the game and will not require any additional activation steps when being installed. Please check atari.com/arma for updates on when it is released. Regards, Atari, Inc.
ArMoGaDoN 0 Posted May 18, 2007 Hmm, very official-ese, but in essence they are saying that they, being Atari, are allowed to say that you, the customer, are in no way permitted to avail yourselves of the latest beta-patches in order to play online with your mates, nor are you permitted to help out the whole community (and Atari) by participating in the testing that will ensure that the final patch (that Atari want to see working properly) will operate correctly on everyone's hardware, and will meet their (Atari's) customers expectations. HMM Not sure I agree with their customer-focussed attitude there. :S
zyklone 1 Posted May 18, 2007 They're probably just tired of people expecting support on beta patches. No need to read too much into it, hopefully you understand you're on your own if you use beta patches.
BroK3n 0 Posted May 18, 2007 Well you gotta admit that they have better support than Morphicon or the other sites selling Arma via digitial download.
W0lle 1052 Posted May 18, 2007 Morphicon does not provide support for the german download version, that's what Metaboli is responsible for. I wish people would finally realize this instead of bitching about the lame Morphicon support.
Telemachos 0 Posted May 18, 2007 They're probably just tired of people expecting support on beta patches. No need to read too much into it, hopefully you understand you're on your own if you use beta patches. None of this has to do with support for the beta patch- it's actually support for the authorization software they use. Just because it's a beta patch doesn't mean anything- if it was a problem with using internet explorer, it is something that should get resolved. Also- using the term 'expecting support'... yes I do expect support. I could spend my money elsewhere- I am not made to buy the game and spend my money on it. As quick as I bought it is as quick as I could not buy another game from the company. Anyhow, I got the same reply email and personally I think it's a load of fluffer crap to pass the responsibility to BI. All the same, I deleted my beta folder- reinstalled 1.07.5154 and said screw it. I rather not waste more time and will remember it in the future.

Noraf 0 Posted May 19, 2007 well, it is know that the dl verisons cam make a fuss when trying to use the beta patches.... so if you got a dl version, i'd hold til the final release of the patches comes ( but if you got a dvd, you should be able to test it ). Daemon 0 Posted June 8, 2007 I have the Atari Download version of the game and I have been playing the 1.07beta just fine for some time. I just learned recently about the 1.07 hotfix and applied it to my game. Now whenever I try to start the game to play with the beta it demands I re-register the game and when I try to input my serial # or unlock code it tells me they are invalid.. Sent an email to Atari and they responded promptly that I should direct my problem to Digital River. So I sent an email to them, still no response.. This is ridiculous given I had the pyrite edition of the game running with less dificulties than my legit copy. Moral of the story is don't waste your money on Digital Downloads. The support is a joke
