-Puma- 2 Posted May 18, 2007 I had the same issue, a couple days ago, I phoned my ISP, and they we're having some probs with certain services. maybe contact ur ISP provider and see if they can help u with ur troubles(i know a simple call to my ISP's troubleshooting has solved allmost all of my internet probs)
-CS-SOBR-1st-I-R- 0 Posted May 18, 2007 Try to set a DMZ (demlilitarized zone) for your IP (PC @ Router) and see if that works. BI can not block your ip ... only server admins can when you behave like fuck, otherwise noone would block you. Try it with that ArmA launcher softwair, I belive its two of them out there ... maybe that works ?

Yoma 0 Posted May 18, 2007 Doesn't work over telnet... Well, then you know at least it's not BIS to be blamed for, because now you already got to independant aplications being able to do what you would like. ~S~ CD you see the relation now In short if you can't telnet: You cannot connect in the most basic way to the remote server on the given port. That kind of narrows down the problem: It's not Arma that's causing the problem. it may be: -your ISP -your router (if you are behind one, try connecting without it being between your pc and internetconnection (connect directly to your pc) and test if it then works) -some kind of shitty firewallsoftware you have misconfigured. (uninstalling does not allways solve the problem here) If you aren't up to it: find someone who knows how pc's/networks work to look at it. -
BernardI 0 Posted May 18, 2007 Found MY solution. Reformat, reinstall fresh XP. 1) onboard nforce ethernet disabled in the bios, I use an netgear adapter. (BI said nvdia geforce net driver are a known problem). 2) if you have norton (I had it ) dont reinstall it. Norton dont uninstall correctly (if u want a try without) and leaves crap in the registry that keeps you from connecting after a while. (known problem also). Norton firewall looks to suck during the learning process. 3) dont disable XP firewall in the services. The guy is responsible for a lot of services that are not handled properly without it and the port mapping is screwed up then. I have seen today arma opening ports that are not in the 2302-05 they say (dont ask why) so it was listening no where. I really think this is the old XP crap. Something doesn't work try to tweak again and again, install and unistall, enable and disable until nothing works anymore adn repair becomes impossible because registry comes bad and you dont know at what point to restore (if restore enabled). So reinstall Arma on a fresh minimum config, see how it works and then only add all those fancy softwares, .net and frameworks and firewalls we are found of Mine is going now fine and nice like a baby pee... I leave it like that for a week and the I will enable onboard lan and geforce net drivers. Just to see if we can trace down to a network driver problam like BI said.
