looks like u dont need to "mod" FDF sounds. Just move the 2 files in ur normal addons folder and dont use the mod.

Same problem in France connecting to my favorite server in Germany. "wait for host" and Arma itself freezes. The only solution I found for the "wait for host" forever message is to connect through Armalauncher with the direct IP, this works all the time. Doesnt fix the connection lost though.

work around I found: network issues This is a setting working on my 2 installations of XP and Arma. Of course it still has to be investigated as BI dont give any service needed to have the game working 100% of time. Hope it helps.

Found MY solution. Reformat, reinstall fresh XP. 1) onboard nforce ethernet disabled in the bios, I use an netgear adapter. (BI said nvdia geforce net driver are a known problem). 2) if you have norton (I had it ) dont reinstall it. Norton dont uninstall correctly (if u want a try without) and leaves crap in the registry that keeps you from connecting after a while. (known problem also). Norton firewall looks to suck during the learning process. 3) dont disable XP firewall in the services. The guy is responsible for a lot of services that are not handled properly without it and the port mapping is screwed up then. I have seen today arma opening ports that are not in the 2302-05 they say (dont ask why) so it was listening no where. I really think this is the old XP crap. Something doesn't work try to tweak again and again, install and unistall, enable and disable until nothing works anymore adn repair becomes impossible because registry comes bad and you dont know at what point to restore (if restore enabled). So reinstall Arma on a fresh minimum config, see how it works and then only add all those fancy softwares, .net and frameworks and firewalls we are found of Mine is going now fine and nice like a baby pee... I leave it like that for a week and the I will enable onboard lan and geforce net drivers. Just to see if we can trace down to a network driver problam like BI said.

deinstalled arma and reinstalled on an another drive, dont even have the server list now..... thing is getting funny  didnt try the ISP, usually they have no solutions here. choosed the hard way, reformatting and reinstalling XP NOTE: do you crash when disconnecting from lan session ?

Hi, I get similar problem since 2 weeks, computer freezes when connectin to a mp session. Replaced my MB for a Asus M2N+SLI and AMD X2 4800+. Worked for 2 days and then I couldnt access any MP session. (not really true, it works sometimes). Went back to old config reinstalling everything, same problem so I reinstalled my new config. Tried also a fresh XP install with only arma installed, didnt work either. Forget the router issue, a 2nd computer with vista connects fine. What ports do you need to open on the firewall I couldn't find that anywhere ? Do I blow my head now or I wait a couple of weekes more ?
