You should ask if you can re-skin MechaStalin's BMD-1

I've got a BMD-2 model lying around if you guys are interested in adding it to the pack. The main reason I havnt worked on it much was because I couldnt get a good turret texture.

And of course the BMD-1, but I dont think those have been repainted to Russian Federation standards at all.

Best we talk about this on MSN, i wanted to try to reskin the BMD before but i couldnt open the pbo as Kegetys tools refuse to work for me and Eliteness not always works.

Question to those who checked my Crew guy ( first post on this page ) and the one on Plasmans pics...

What VSR would you prefer, mine is bit darker and more colourful while the one on Plasmans pics is a pretty bright bit bleached out one.

Haha you didn't. So I thought it might not have gone through.

But yeah, take a look if you have the time. The textures are not too bad but they're showing their age in ArmA and tend to have this sort of blotchy look to them.

Afaik the russian motto is whats working can be used untill it breaks so a BMD1 should still be fitting.

Main thing is we dont have a decent BMD-3 in ArmA yet and if we would go total modern our troops would need kevlar helmets new assault vests and body armor and so on... so for now we have to use what we have.

I even remeber a not too old pic of some reserve units that had a JS-3

I don't think that this is supposed to be a "realism mode" per say, otherwise VDV should not have BRDMs either. However, for the sake of accuracy - BMD-1 is by far the most numerous armored vehicle in service with the VDV today. It is followed by the BMD-2. There are no more than a few dozen of BMD-3/4s that are operational right now.

Also, please note that your pictures show the different versions of BMP-3, not BMD.

Maybe i should get rid of the VDV insignia on the BRDM-2s... although it looks pretty neat on them

What also makes me think is should we use the new SLA models from the beta patch or stick to the original ones.

Main difference is the helmet which was the famous russian conehead ( Ssh-68 ) before and now they gave them some WW2 era Ssh-40 pisspots... fits well with having Su34s and Ka-50s i guess...

Guess ill stick to the original models as they fit much better to my idea.

Defintely. I also agree with removing the VDV logo from the BRDM, that way I can use it with the MI, when they show up.

I agree you can put a number or a flag instead. I think we'd better stick with the old pre-1.07 version SLA models. We don't know yet how buggy the beta patch will be.

Perhaps make it optional like the random numbers and insignias, that came with the T55-Pack in OFP?
