VXR 9 Posted April 7, 2007 They are looking very Sexy, Peanut, I have added VXR to msn and we have talked about missions and stuff, any chance I can have the addons sent to me so I can create a mission? Thank you, At this moment work is progressing very well now I found out how to modify the normal maps etc. So it wont take very long before the final BETA will be done and beeing send over to you. You could already start working on some idea's for missions and send those over already so me and Peanut can take a look at them
The_Nebula 0 Posted April 7, 2007 Roger that, will do. When completed, please send to; hurley_matt@netspace.net.au - Cheers.

VXR 9 Posted April 8, 2007 Looking stunning fellas - thanks for the update Thank you There will be a update on the Regular Infantry within 48 hours, featuring the new hi-res uniform, Land 125 kneepads and Steyr Aug. And maybe also a suprise
Stewy 1 Posted April 8, 2007 Great VX - I'm lovng these pics
The_Nebula 0 Posted April 8, 2007 Ahhh Sweet!!! Will you use the styer I sent you? Or have you got another one? Please use a better model/reskin from BIS's OFP one. I am creating a SASR mission which is actually quite good. The idea of the mission is that the ADF has taken all of South Sahrani, (i.e Corazal south), and your job is to clear the highway from Corazal to Bagango. You start at the airfield in south sahrani and get paradropped by UH-60 just to the north of Corazal and have to make your way north to Bagango, clearing the way for the ADF main force to sweep through. Stewy 1 Posted April 9, 2007 Quote[/b] ]Ahhh Sweet!!! Will you use the styer I sent you? Or have you got another one? Please use a better model/reskin from BIS's OFP one. As an idea, what about merging the two? I think the BIS Steyr is a slightly more realistic shape, especially around the telescopic sight (no offence intended) but I think the OFP textures are far better - you've managed to nail down that very illusive "Steyr Plastic" colour! The_Nebula 0 Posted April 9, 2007 The Styer that I posted is modelled and skinned of the ADF Styer, The OFP styer if not very well skined, yes it a good model, but hopelessly skinned, but the one I posted is the way to go Make sure you try and add a Elcan scope to the top of the Minimi, as the ADF always use a scope ontop of their minimis. You could also use the styer scope as that is used also. But doesnt matter which one, aslong as there is a scope on top and a styer!
crazyjockey 0 Posted April 9, 2007 These skins are brilliant. Â If you need any photos of anything, let me know. Also, get rid of the old Steyr and replace it with the new Steyr A3; http://www.adi-limited.com/blank.h...._a3.pdf http://www.steyr-arms.at/index.php?id=77 As you can see, there are lots more attachment points to hang gucci shit off, and it looks way cooler The main point, though, is the piccatinny rail on top, (which isn't new, the Steyr S model has it too). Â This lets us attach a few different optics to the weapon. Â The sights pictured on those Steyrs on the ADI website are the same ones that go on the Minimi (as well as the 4x wildcat and the night weapon sight, let me know if you want photos of those as well)
Vex 0 Posted April 9, 2007 I don't mean to nitpick, but the air filter on the BF-109 is on the wrong side in the screenie. Also if it's a desert 109, it needs a tropical filter.

VXR 9 Posted April 9, 2007 cant wait. its that simple, i need the update now lol I wish I could but I am currently not at home. I did work on them last night and the SASR are nearing beta. I will take some more time to get the A3 versions done but I am thinking about releasing the Aus Reg. inf with the old Steyr and add the new steyr including a Minimi with mounted sight in a update. All the weapons will be made from scratch if I decide to use the A3. Photos of the A3 and sights are very welcome thank you! I don't mean to nitpick, but the air filter on the BF-109 is on the wrong side in the screenie. Also if it's a desert 109, it needs a tropical filter. You do not nitpick Constructive critism is always welcome. We try to make it look as realistic as possible. Thanks you, the tropical filter will be added and put on the other side. Stewy 1 Posted April 9, 2007 Ok, I've been staring (drooling) at your last pics for ages and some things have hit me... You can still see the feint helmet band from the US helmet around the helmet - I'm not sure if Aussies these days have helmet bands or not - but the feint line looks a bit stange to me... The uniforms and pouches look very clean (and new) Auscam does fade a bit with dust and sunlight - perhaps could they be messied up a little? I've never seen cams that clean in the bush Again, these are just my opinions mate - feel free to say "get stuffed" I'm doing it my way - they're still top notch! tpM 478 Posted April 9, 2007 I can get sounds for weapons etc... if needed

The Uniforms will get some dirt at the front of their legs, elbows etc. adding dirt is the last thing that will be tweaked on the textures. Wait for the next update to see the result. Thanks you for your reply! The band on the helmet will also be added, I did not delete the band yet but it will be fixed. Most work was put into the SASR to get those into BETA phase, that why the Regular infantry got on the background in that period. I can get sounds for weapons etc... if needed Everything that can help us making it as real as possible is welcome Thanks! Stewy 1 Posted April 10, 2007 Sorry VX, I was going to post in your forum but I had trouble joining (my home connection sucks) Taking a look at a pic on an Aussie news website, I was reminded that the Aussies use that 'beige' style colour for their clips on webbing/pouches... It might seem like a silly, trivial point (and it is) but black clips are hardly ever seen in oz - at least that was the case when I was in the Choccos I'm sorry to nit-pick mate - I guess I'm just really keen to seen them in sim for myself! nephilim 0 Posted April 10, 2007 @col.faulkner Small, but important, point of detail; SASR soldiers are called "Troopers", not "Operators" nope youre wrong trooper is their rank wikipedia excerpt "The Regiment is organised into three 'sabre' squadrons, each of up to 80 'beret qualified' operators, and a signal squadron (152 Signal squadron), logistic support squadron, and Operational Support Squadron, which conducts the selection and training courses.[8] Only a small percentage of the Regiment are 'beret qualified' operators. The majority of the regiment personnel are highly trained specialist staff who are posted to the unit to provide support for all operations. These include signallers, mechanics and technicians, medical staff, storemen, and various specialists. 'Beret qualified' SASR members are known as 'Operators' and support staff are affectionately known as 'Blackhats', due to the dark blue berets they wear. Infantry soldiers who are posted to the unit as storemen, drivers, clerks etc wear the dark 'rifle' green Infantry Corps beret. " its the same with sas, seals and green berets(afaik) neat work btw but y do you need a higher res auscam texture? wasnt my sufficient :P?
crazyjockey 0 Posted April 10, 2007 nope youre wrongtrooper is their rank Nah, he's right. Â Trooper is their rank, but it's also what they're called, because they're organised into "troops". Â Wikipedia is wrong (because the article was probably written by an american).
nephilim 0 Posted April 10, 2007 ive heard this term from various other sources aswell.. trooper rank and operator being the official calling.. but oh well.. SBS guys are called shakies so .. whatever lol
VXR 9 Posted April 10, 2007 neat work btwbut y do you need a higher res auscam texture? wasnt my sufficient :P? Haha, Yours are perfect Nephilim! They are added to the SASR units already, I ment I had to change the old auscam I had for the Hi-res you gave me on the Regular Infantry. Thank you for your compliment on the work! and offcourse the Hi-res Camo. Sorry VX, I was going to post in your forum but I had trouble joining (my home connection sucks)Taking a look at a pic on an Aussie news website, I was reminded that the Aussies use that 'beige' style colour for their clips on webbing/pouches... Thanks for the advise , for me it does not sound like nit-picking. It just makes the soldiers more realistic. I will add the colored clips to the textures. VXR 9 Posted April 12, 2007 I had promised a update within 48 hours last weekend, this just wasnt possible because I had to deal with my real life There will be a update this weekend for sure! I have been working for 4 hours on one texture (webbing vest) for the Regular Infantry. With thanks to Crazy Jockey for advise. I would love to show the textures but Peanut has the SASR and Regular infantry models/pbo on his HD and he is currently on the military base and not able to have contact. WARFARE DESIGNS FORUM
