BLSmith2112 0 Posted March 18, 2007 Now this technically would be a bad call to shove into the "videography's thread" since this may be dragged on a bit. If mods come to a decision that a discussion in the videography thread stretching 3-4 pages in there is unnecessary, fine. But that (as Franze says): derails the threads purpose. Anyways, I am looking to spend a lot of time over the next week creating a nicely put together film. My last video was claimed by one as "great directing" and the reason for that is that I planned the film out from the beginning. Now I've hit a speed bump, and ask perhaps for some suggestions on what a story could be for this film. Conditions: I don't use actors so specific actions are impossible. It can be comical, but don't want benny hill music running around throughout the entire movie. The film is going to be about 8+ minutes, so a simple "wam-bam, thank you ma'am" story won't cut it. Stewy 1 Posted March 18, 2007 "Flight of the Intruder" was on TV last night - cheesy movie I know - but what about a sequence where a BlackHawk or Harrier is shot down... Pilot lives and has to fight off an attack with his pistol... Harriers come in "low and hot" and kill the Shilka that got him Rescue chopper comes in and rescues him... Just an idea off the top of my head - can't wait to see the movie (whatever you decide! )
AWDrift 0 Posted March 18, 2007 "In a world of war crimes and violence there's a soldier who doesn't quite play by the rules. . . He is going to clean sahrini up, by any means possible. Â " "A foreign soldier teaches ghetto sahrini youth that they are worth something " " An american soldier realizes his dream of becomming a tap dancer" " Two soldiers realize there undying love for eachother in "brokeback assualt" Ok serious time. How about an SF team that is riding in a blackhawk. They fly over a forest and when they do enemy soldiers open fire on them. The blackhawk is severly damaged and many members of the team are dead or wounded. So they fly away and crash land in a field. Some are too wounded to move. So they decide to set up defences around the blackhawk and try to hold out until help arrives. Sorry if it has been done before.
BLSmith2112 0 Posted March 18, 2007 Some pretty good ideas man. With ideas come questions in my head...(editing), but as soon as I start asking scripting questions in the editors area, that's when I getta gun and near shoot my foot. Excellent ideas man. Keep em' rollin! I will probably incorporate a bunch of ideas into this film. I take every suggestion quite seriously. Edit, didn't realize AWDrift posted 20 seconds before I hit reply. lol, weird suggestions... kinda hard to take "Brokeback ArmA" or w/e seriously.. but w/e

BroK3n 0 Posted March 18, 2007 how about having a battle in the open fields near corazol? They remind me a lot of Normandy. You could have a huge battle with tanks and apcs or you could have a small standoff between two troops or men from across the empty field. You could also (or should) pick some themes... like... "At the end of the game the king and the pawn go back in the same box." I guess themes really help in placing a bearing in what you're thinking of doing. It gives your characters something to work to and helps in driving ur movie. Hope that helps. I didnt give u any story ideas did i lol.
BLSmith2112 0 Posted March 18, 2007 The ideas of what to implement into the movie as well as story's are all beneficial.
Col. Faulkner 0 Posted March 19, 2007 Haven't you got it all the wrong way around? Isn't your first motivation supposed to be the desire to tell a story, rather than that you just want to make some sort of video? I'd have supposed you should be thinking "I have a great idea for an interesting vignette. I think it'd work well as a short video", rather than "I wanna make a video (maybe someone else will help me make up a storyline for it)!"
BLSmith2112 0 Posted March 20, 2007 Well I enjoy filming and editing the videos, however I am uncreative... Thus feeding from a pool of creativity is very beneficial. You would think it would be the other way around, but as I have already stated, I am seeking the ideas needed to tell a story.
