rofl.gif Ive got many qualifications in IT, and i cant make an addon. Trust me it its hard, but don't get me wrong, it can be done, it just takes time to learn all the aspects you have to go though. #

www.opec.com has many tutorials to start you off.

And i guess its best to wait for BIS to release the tools for making addons.

That's a pretty big plan you got there. Hope you've got the dedication to work on that.

but www.ofpec.com offers a good start to modeling with the old tools.

What sort of tank? What sort of helicopter?   smile_o.gif

edit: I concur on the fact that it takes a long time. It's a hell

of a lot of work for what you finally end up with, although it

is good to see something you've made working in the game.

I was going to make a whole fleet of planes ( I still will)

Just saying that I had help with my F4U Corsair and I'll bet that I have 5-6 months nonstop myself with all my spare time.

A tank or chopper is a big project, takes weeks just to bugfix ONE addon

edit: and people complain at Bis for some bugs when they release several addons

Footmunch would be a good one to consult,he was doing a plane or two a month or better

Other already-established modding teams have the same

modern British stuff already planned, anyway. If you just

want to play with British equipment then you just need to

wait a bit.

There are already ArmA soldier models "reskinned" to look like

they are wearing British DP combat suits and you can even

get some SA80 and LSW models (you can find them on this

forum). With the default ArmA M16s you can even pretend

they are UKSF (sort of)

Ah don't give up so fast! It's worth a shot, you don't have to have 8 hours a day free for this, an hour here an hour there and you'll get enough free time and you'll start learning and improve.

In any case it's largely academic since there are no Arma

modding tools out yet (yes, OK, I know it is technically

possible to do some half-finished things already). In the

meantime you could do some more general research on 3D

modelling, mapping and how to use graphics tools to create

textures.

I was shocked to see no one posted http://www.ofpec.com/ yet.

You should try something smaller and model some boxes or a go kart before you go onto a tank

I'm shocked to see that you didn't see the link I already posted to ofpec.

I'm shocked you're actually taking him seriously... whistle.gif
