Increased view distance, quite stunning

but i just updated to v1.08, if i set my VD at 6k, or even 10k, it still doesnt look as far as these nice pictures.

is my game SUPPOSED or NOT SUPPOSED to look like these pictures?

8800 old problem, BI need to set it back for the sake of this card

Yes, the problem is as far as I know confined to only the 8800 series.

Are you playing online? Online, the server dictates the view distance to keep everyone on an even playing field. On single player games, you have control over the view distance.

As far as I know, the view distance problem for the 8800 series cards has been severely reduced. Try researchign the problem on the trouble shooting forum if you're still having trouble.

I have a 256 meg x850 and I run it at medium/low with 4000m view distance just fine, actually. No super computer required.

I live on this game now it could do with an airsoft gadget mouted on the desk that fires on you when the troops in the game do that would make it great. It's going to be great when we get mortars and landing craft.
