duuk 0 Posted February 5, 2002 Hi all. I am new to the game and this forum. My first impression of the game (besides that it was good, of course) was the lack of in-game joining. This makes one spend a lot of time simply trying to enter a (good) game. I have seen a number of threads in this forum dealing with this issue, so rather than starting another one I am inviting all to a poll, so that we can clearly see what the general opinion on this matter is. kegetys 2 Posted February 5, 2002 As said by BIS many times, join in progress is just impossible to do anymore. I could imagine it would need changing how the whole engine works. Fo me, its not that useful feature anyway, because I mostly play coop missions online and join in progress in those would be kinda stupid. Heck even the fact that you have 2 Yes options and 3 No options makes the poll lopsided. Imagine if CNN did a Poll like this... wow. Do a Simple: 1) YES I want it... 2) No I do not want it... 3) Not sure if I want it... Looks to me like the person who put the POLL up doesn't want it. I would like to see JOIN IN PROGRESS (not JIP because that just sounds BAD) because it would allow longer less frustrating experiences. When someone comes in a server they could hop on the team that is unbalanced and take the spot of an AI... not just appear out of thin air... this is in no way unrealistic anymore than the game as whole itself. duuk 0 Posted February 6, 2002 lol ... I myself voted 'Yes I would pay for JIP'. I included three NO's because I wanted to find out more why ppl don't want JIP or Join In Progress. To me it should be obvious that most everyone wants it. Most (all?) multi-player games today have JIP. As the number of players that are able to connect onto a single game grows (thus giving us larger, more involved games), there will be no alternative to JIP. I would like to see a large OFP campaign on-line where players could join all the time and the front would go back and forth. That would be immersion!
