Right, lets get a full bug going just like we did for Resistance.

Feel free to add your bugs to this thread.

Hardware Spec:

AMD X2 4800

nForce4 Abit AN8-SLi mobo (6.86 nvidia driver pack)

2GB PC3200 ram

Creative X-Fi Extreme Music (SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_09_0007)

nVidia 8800GTS 640MB (97.92 forceware)

No overclocking

Bug list:

HUGE load times.

Occasional missing textures.

Frequently corrupt briefing screen (no text, no icons).

Occasional green cutscenes.

Occasional control delay (Game is only playable with mouse sensitivity set to minimum).

Game locks up frequently on accessing menu midgame (necessitating a system reset).

Loading screens are 50% chance of being blurry.

In game smoke can flicker.

Very, very slow return to game from map screen.

Fair enough but that's ridiculously complex.

I paid BIS to play the game, they didn't pay me to test it for them.

So the forum title:

This forum is for reporting hardware/driver issues with ArmA as well as for reporting serious bugs.

the ArmA - TROUBLESHOOTING forum, so this topic is fine in my view.

Well, I just bought the game 2 days ago. I started the campaign and did all the training missions (except attack chopper course, in which I keep on crashing into trees or houses biggrin_o.gif)

Here are my specs:

Game:

ArmA 1.04 505 Fr

Computer :

AMD 4600X2

2x1Go DDRam PC3200

GeForce 7900GT 256Mo, drivers 93.71

WinXP SP2

Bugs so far:

*AI units can travel through walls (1st mission of the campaign), through vehicles or other AI units (cutscenes).

*Transparency bugs while shooting against a wall, the muzzle flash allows me to see through all walls.

*Lighting errors when in vehicles, instead of being shadowed by the vehicle flanks, everything is still lit by exterior light, but with an added shade of light grey.

[EDIT]* Forgot to add, Rifle Bullet Tracers enable/disable doesn't work for me, tracers are always on.

Not bugs, but worth reporting in my opinion:

* Bad english in briefing screens.

* Wheeled vehicles turn into destroyed state far too abruptly, there is no 'intermediate damage' state.

* Recoils for some of the weapons feel wrong. I haven't shot any real weapon, but having little to no recoil for a G36 or MP5 seems inacurate. Correct me if I'm wrong.

* Gameplay balanced in some area but not all, meant to give BLUFOR player some advantage over OPFOR AI. This is WAD, but not a good WAD.

I believe there are much more to report, but I'll stick to this for now as being the most fun killing for me.

For the people complaining about bugs:

The bugs where there a long time ago, the buglist was there far before the 505 release. If you decided to uneducate yourself and not look into this before buying, well thats your fault. If you thought BIS will fix everything, well the joke's on you.

I disagree with you regarding bugs. I know that most bugs I and others have complained about were there in the German/Polish/Czech release.

But BIS proved with OFP that they are up to it, I wouldn't have bought ArmA otherwise. It may be wishful thinking for some, but I do believe BIS will correct at least part of the bugs we complain about. They might even improve some parts of the game or add other things.

I understand your frustrastion, believe me. Feeling as a paying beta tester is horrible. If you played OFP before, you'll have to bear with it a while longer... The game will reveal its full potential in the following months.

Remember, OFP 1.00 was a real pain to play, at least for me biggrin_o.gif . OFP 1.96 was much better, after I-don't-know-how-many-updates-and-patches...

Looks like the Biki is 1.02 specific..

Doesn't look like they are keeping it up to date considering 1.04 has been released and 1.05 is probably 99% finished.

Needs an update, methinks - or you're wasting your time using the Bugs list.

I'm with you Malick,

OFP was terrible to start with but what a game and by the time 1.96 was out BIS had fixed and tuned it almost to perfection and I have every confidence that Arma will shine too. I would buy and try any game by BIS regardless of how buggy it was because I know it will get fixed.

However, atm it is unplayable for me and the wiki bug reporting system is a paid beta/RC-tester type setup. I feel that someone at BIS should have a heavily moderated bug list sticky in this forum.

Personally I cannot wait 'til a patch is out and I can try the game again.

I totally agree with Malick, and the idea of a thread becoming a list of bugs.. the game developers usually come on to this site right? it should help them..

heres a list from my thread that I put up last night at 10:18pm.. this thread should be stickied, as it the official forum, it could get noticed more.

-AI Dont follow you sometimes after you ask them to return to formation.. strange, they just hang around.

-The AI on the roads are kinda sloppy, they go off road, slow down then go on road and speed up then hit another vehicle.. it was a little bit better in OFP... i wonder what happened here  this kind of things messes up missions everytime i retry them cos they waste so much time on the road than getting to their destination.

-I have notice sometimes that AI kills me......... thru a BUILDING!!

-When walking up the steps of a building and doing a prone at the top of them steps (of the buildings you CANT enter), i instantly die.. weird, happened in the ArmA demo, and happens here too.

-Multiple airports.. possible? maybe it could be made so that the airport has a specific ID number, so u can set in the editor what airport is currently in use to make the planes fly and land, then it could be changed via scripting so that the current airport could be disabled, and the other one activated.. just an idea  

-If there were an addon for an aircraft carrier on the sea.. just wonderin.. would it work?? fully functional? to be able to move as well as allow planes to land on it, people to move it on it? be wicked!

-An idea thats possible.. is being able to have more sides! wouldnt that be kool??? Having an OPFOR, BLUFOR, INDEPENDENT, CIVILIAN, JAPANESE, IRAQ, MAFIA GANG..

you would create a completely new side, and with a simple file to edit, you can freely change the sides that opposes it, allies with it, or is just neutral.. jeez that would be sik!! (wicked)

Ahahaha i found another bug! To do with the bridge.. and some proof its there.

I made about 4 or 5 tanks waypoint and stop over a bridge, with about 11 satchels underneath it to blow the bridge, now.. do tanks really float or is collision a little bit off? Im posting here to help the makers understand that if they were to make a patch, wot shuld be fixed, and here!

Use the BTS system as mentioned above. Its what the developers are using. Posting your bug in the forums won't get much attention.
