British Forces Addons

Just a quickie I know we had lots of addons for British Forces in OFP (Lynx,WMIKs,DPM troops etc) just asking those who are working on em for an eta on some proper british stuff.

Both UKF and RKSL are doing British kit.

UKF is taking the ground forces and armour. RKSL is taking care of Aircraft and "some" Naval stuff.

I'm working on some 1970-80s british vehicles atm. No idea when they will be released.

There are also projects covering everything from 1950-1985 UK kit wise.

Lynx HMA8 - 60%

Future Army & Navy Lynx too. 50%

Also

Merlin HM1 - 60%

Merlin HC3 - 20%

Puma HC1 - 80%

Seaking HC4 - 90%

Seaking ASaC7 - 80%

WAH-64D Apache - 40% (had to remake the nose again)

and of course Chinook HC2 and HC3 (Conversion from high poly models may get remade form scratch at this rate)

Essentially if the UK is flying it operationally i'm going to try and make it.

I haven’t made one and frankly wasn’t planning of doing one as im aiming for kit that will still be in service around 2012.  Depending on the sources you listen to the Gazelle will likely be gone by then with the Lynx taking over its role.

Thank you, every model is new and unique to RKSL, mostly all done by me (Im averaging about 1.5 models a week right now.) with the exception of the Chinooks which were done by a friend in Japan who may or may not (depending on work commitments) join the RKSL team for ArmA.

As for the Textures…some are nearly fully mapped.  Only a small number have fully painted skins though. The rest are just naked meshes, most are in OFP atm for script development so do actually work. But I’m hoping to UV map all the models for use in ArmA.

nice to hear, i suppose that the good thing is that all the later addons from UKF for OFP (Weapon pack 2) were that highly detailed that they probably just need a little texture work for the new engine and their good to go, like working on the 3d weapons sights.

one thing, can you customize the way of holding the weapons in arma?

oh yeah and any word if falklands mod is moving to arma?

Can't wait for British gear. To be honest it gets boring constantly using US kit in every military game that comes out.

There is also work being done by at least two mod teams on

British and Empire forces in the Western desert in 1942, yet

another team is doing some early 1940s British Commandos

and "Invasion 1944" has promised to move to ArmA (which

implies late second world war British airborne and line infantry

and armour addons). I get the impression that there is much

less interest in any of these, though.

The last I heard from the Falklands mod was that, after the

dissolution of their team, they were struggling to complete

the work even in OFP.

"sasyboy" on this forum is working on his own modern British

weapons and there has already been at least one retexture

of the current BIS American models in British DPM (although I

guess they'd look more like Dutch than British in that case).

RAAB are also working on some basic kit which you may find here and there and see in our screenshots, mainly the SAS gezza's I've done as retextures and the weapons sasys been working on:

It's not been dissolved. As far as I know, they remaining members of the team are still working towards at least an OFP release.

It HAS NOT been disolved. We're still working on it and there will be a release for OFP. But there hasnt been a decision made about porting to ArmA yet.

sorry for the confusion. clearly someone had some wrong infomation somewhere, i read on the site after making that post that they are looking at a Q1 2007 release at the moment whcih will be cool.
