I think your right, unless I reinstall XP! But, like I said in a earlier post, if I change it to MYSERVER name, maybe Microsoft might not allow updates, etc.

You can change the name of your computer rather easily

Goto Control Panel

Then

Goto System

Then

Click on Computer Name

Then

Click on the Change Buttom

Reboot ... and voila done

This will mess up any shares you have on this machine ... oh and any SQL databases ... and probably a few more things ...but it CAN be done

Thank you rabbit. I was just trying to keep the thread open by starting another thread to get some answers! I am running, as you probably know a dedicated server to give people a chance to test out the demo. I just have to learn to ignore poster's that show impudence.

when I first saw your topic I did not understand.

So they are right, you better use "AI" if you want to avoid discussions.

You opened up a new thread for a question which has already

been answered by people in this one here - just not to your

expectations. I didn't report your post to a moderater but

only posted a reply into your thread to point out that it

doesn't make sense opening two threads for one question.

By your imature kind of reaction i can see where you're comming from - you could have sent me a PM and you could

even have quoted the right post instead of confusing people

in this thread here which i'm sure will help you to solve your

problems.
