Why not have this?...

....I think BIS is using ArmA simply as a financial springboard towards much more comprehensive and polished products in the not too distant future. I'm sure they are aware of the shortcomings of their own creation but financial constraints are preventing them from reaching their true potential.

Man, i would pay a monthly fee to get them to their full potential!

Mods that fix the foundations are pointless if BIS starts releasing a new game every year (full price retail upgrade, like the IL-2 series).

You're also forgetting that the poorly implemented HDR "effect" is hard-coded into the *foundation* of ArmA and cannot be turned off.

Most good games come packaged as a block of land with a nice livable house on it that you can immediately occupy. ArmA feels like a block of land with a derelict house on it that needs a few years of renovation before you can live in it.

I'm not really sure what your referring to as far as BIS releasing a new game every year. That hasn't been their pattern.

Well I guess the HDR effect is a matter of preference as I reallly like it.Shame those who don't can't disable it though.

I have to agree with you it feels somewhat premature. However it will be months rather than 'years' before you get that sinking your teeth feeling.

I Really love these type of effects. Like anyone ever Play Medal of honor pacific assault? that had the sweetest stuff.. you get shot you will be lying, everything goes black and white, your heart pounds in your ears as your medic comes and brings you back from your last breath. Or just shooting would blur the vision slightly.. (With heavy weapons) or getting suppressed. But i likd brothers in arms shellshocks the best.. your guy falls down and you can see your hands and feet and stuff... and you can hear your friends shouting "Baker!" or "Hartsock!" and you get up and its all blurred and stuff.. yeah..

I just really love that kind of stuff. ya know the Heavy breathing, heartbeat.. vision blurred.. quire music playing or something lol..

I saw this on the main ArmA website...

Quote[/b] ]Enviromental:

If there's an explosion nearby your vision and hearing can be affected.

Can anyone confirm it's actually been implemented as i've only got the demo and didn't notice anything different. Mainly because when i heard an explosion i was usually standing next to it, so i was killed.

One thing I hope someone is able to mod into the game is something that mimics the way AI take cover in the r6:v.

However, I think this would only be possible with serious modifications to the engine.

It would make city combat so cool to have AI soldier utilize corners and take cover behind ordinary objects.

Im sure i read somewhere that BIS were planning on releasing an "AI Editor" to allow the community to improve the AI themselves... I cant in all honesty remember where i read that, hopefully i didnt dream it up :P

But hey, OFP AI was improved dramatically by the community, and ArmA should be no exclusion, and with the flexibility of the "AI Editor" it should be even better smile_o.gif

Special effects like headschake or loss of hearing or sight for a short while would be a nice addition, this would improve the effect of barrages, as they would stun the enemy.
