Inc_Cat 0 Posted January 16, 2007 Hi all We have something we're trying to sort out to be more accurate in the game. What we're talking about here is zero range for weapons ingame (and forumla to calculate distance using mil dots). The forumla I know, I would just like to know what the exact height (and prefably with) of a soldier is in Armed Assault? As for zero range. All weapons as far as I discovered has a similar to real trajectory. To further understand how that works in game, one need to know at what range are the different weapons zeroed on? M4 one belives to be zeroed at 300M So does anyone in the community, or prefably gamedevelopers able to give out data as to what range the different weapons are zeroed on? When I mean zeroed, that means the range you hit exactly in the middle of your scope, or similar. Getting this data would be really appriciated. Send me a PM if you have further questions. Nemesis_wales 0 Posted January 16, 2007 depends if the scope has adjustable distances?? if it has u zero at 100 meters, thats will then be zeroed to 300 meters, then when ur firing at 4-5-600 u change it, but is this possible in game? if not ull just have 2 'elavate' ur weapon an watch for tracers landing, anjust remember ruffly how much u have 2 aim up
Inc_Cat 0 Posted January 16, 2007 Only the SPR has the ability to zoom scope. All other scoped weapons does not have that option, nor any adjustment features.
Col. Faulkner 0 Posted January 17, 2007 In the absence of any definite information you could try examining the config file for the weapons. Edit: Yes, I just had a quick look; the config.bin has all the information you need. Most rifles are "zeroed" at 400m, most pistols and SMGs are set for 50m. The SPR zooms between 120m and 400m. You can unpack the weapons.pbo with "Eliteness" and decompile the weapons/config.bin into source code using "armaunbin"

Scrub 0 Posted January 17, 2007 In this community, I think a 'yet' needs to be added to the end of that statement.
Col. Faulkner 0 Posted January 17, 2007 A properly working mil dot telescope would be excellent.
