ARMA2 / OA freezing if i click multiplayer for lobby HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
Inc_Cat replied to boogey76's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I got the same issue!!?? All worked fine last night.. no game freez when entering multiplayer lobby.. and then no servers listed. Try to refresh.. another freez.. then still no servers.. Only change to the system is that I installed Starcraft... but that should not have made any changes to Arma Arrowhead?? -

Umm as far as I know Arma 2 does not utilize DirectX 10.... And no.. eye candy wise it's exatly the same in Win7 as XP -

As I said in my very short reply.. XP X64.. you wont "loose" anything. I got a high end system with I7 965 Extreme, 6gb Ram, 2x295's, SSD discs and so forth... XP 64 uses this just fine...Only "problem" I had was finding drivers for all my unknown devices:-) And off curse you want dualboot.. which may be very easy or a tad tricky to set up depending on your knowledge. If you have severeal partitions on your system... and e.g. a free "D" disc.. just install the other OS there. BUT NOTE.. unless you want to mess around with boot managers and such.. install the oldes OS FIRST, and then the newest one. E.G. Install XP on C drive.. then after install WIn 7 or Vista on D drive.. and it will automaticly give you an option of which os to boot when starting the machine. I also have arma 2 installed on my Win 7 X64 RC.... and hopefully will only use that shortly, once patches and drivers come out and make it playablee for me. And just as a side note.. FPS has never been an issue for me.. my game just kept crashing regardless. So I have the same awsome FPS in Xp as I have in Win 7.. difference is game is stable and dont crash. And I tried "all" tricks out there... That said.. I DEFINATELY agree with those who think we let BIS "off the hook" to easy. I don't care what people say about complex game code and jada jada... Arma 2 is a beta version - PERIOD! Furthermore it is outrageous that I actually paid money to participate in a beta test! Now if they gameplay wasnt so good I would for sure dump this game.. but that was the sole reason for my now 3 weeks and loads of hours trying to get this game running! On Vista or Win 7... ANY game runs like a charm, straight out of the box.. no modding, fixing or patching whatsoever.. Americas Army 3.. COD... Crysis.... Crysis Warhammer.. they all run flawless on 1920x1200 with all settings on ultra high. "End rant".. But at least.. now I can play... and XP x64 was my only solution. Bet 32bit also works just fine, but I wanted to use my ram:-) -

Or install WIn xp... I tried it all... and went ahead and installed Xp 64 over Vista... and what do you know.. runs like a fricking charm! -
Constant Desktop crashed - Out of idas
Inc_Cat replied to Inc_Cat's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Well I finally solved it... and it took weeks and weeks and then some to solve... Solution... Installed a fresh Xp x64 with the 182.5 Nvidia drivers. Then renamed to Crysis64.exe.. and runs like a charm. All high settings at 1920 I get around 60+- FPS in multiplayer... and did the benchmark.. got 4515 in result. Finally Im able to play it! -
Firingsqaud demo benchmark highlight serious problems with ARMA2 & some Highend cards
Inc_Cat replied to DarkBytes's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Well I'll join this club.. been trying for almost 2 weeks to get this running.. now I put the game on the shelf, and seriously consider returing it for faulty product. I7 Extreme+Win7 x64 and Vista x64+6GB DDR3+2x GTX 295 I try to run it at native res 1920x1200.. anything below looks awful. And my problem isnt really framerate.. but the constant crashes... never been able to play anything more than 10-25min... Totally unplayable, and I tried all the trics all over the web... Ande even just did a reinstall of Win 7 ... with same shyat... -
Crashes on I7 with 2x295 with or without sli
Inc_Cat replied to Vinchenz's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I have no problem getting SLI working.. nor have any problems with framrate with one or two cards. And to be honest right now I would be happy with 10 in framrate.. if the fricking game would just keep from crashing. Now it's impossible for me to play single or multiplayer.. crashes all the time regardless of what i do.. thus wasted money. And this game is getting a slow death unless they manage to come out with some fixes! -

SLi working - i7 GTX295 on V64 & Win7 -my how to
Inc_Cat replied to FraG_AU's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Just found out that my I7 965 Extreme dont have Hypertreading. It's called something else which i can't remember now, and it's hardware based and can't be turned off (not in bios anyways). -

Inc_Cat replied to FraG_AU's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Glad to hear you got it working, and I envy you:-) Personally I haven't had much problems getting it to run SLI... but my problem is it keeps crashing. FPS wise I've been happy all the time with just a single card or in SLI (quad mode) - allthough single card is more stable than Quad. Also tried just all suggestions in just about all forums (expect installing win XP and disabling HT). Do you have dual 295 with 1,8GB each or 1GB each? Also wonder how you are able to turn of Hypertreading in the Bios, as my bios (Dell) don't have that option, or it's called something else now? Wonder if that could stop the game from crashing. My specs are: Dell XPS I7 965 Extreme@3,2GHz 6GB ram Dual 295's (1,8GB each) SSD dics in non raid Vista x64 Ultimate and Win 7 x64 Ultimate RC1 build 7100 (dualboot) -
ARMA2 Demo working fine, then suddenly crashes with a nvidia dll error.
Inc_Cat replied to zeep's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Say agaon Fox.. you solved Arma 2 crashes by downgrading your cards? Please elaborate would you, as my 295's wont run the game more than 10-15 min max before it crashes... -

Scratch that... Boxed version still wont run.. same problems again. Was able to play solo campain for an hour.. then jumped on different multuiplayer servers, and it keep crashing... Regardless of what i do I get crashed... and I'm about to give up this. Some official word would really be nice.. as I see there is a lot of problems. My greatest concern is that the majority of posts here is about improving framerate.. but I dont really care about that.. I just want to be able to play the game! -
