wipman 1 Posted November 15, 2007 Hi, for use any custom face, you've to download it to your HD and rename it to: face.jpg and save it once the conversion made to... "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\My documents\ArmA". If you've various player profiles, then you must do the same but saving the custom face inside that profile name, i.e: "...\ArmA\Whatever". Sevan 0 Posted November 16, 2007 Is there a place where I can find the stock ArmA faces to be able to edit?
wipman 1 Posted November 16, 2007 Hi, i took the BIS faces from inside the ArmA characters.pbo before patch to the v1.08 after patch to the v1.05; you could do it using a Tool called: PboView 0.8 . That works very well and is very easy to use. Let's C ya
wipman 1 Posted November 16, 2007 Hi, i've made two more custom faces, this time with a greek painted flag, was a request; the flag looks weird and i had to stretch it alot so that's why it don't reachs the top and the chin sides of the face; im not sure on how it will look once in game, i hope that it don't looks too bad... . wipman 1 Posted November 16, 2007 Hi, another damn requested custom face, i don't know why the people don't do this kind of faces 'emselve; they're really the most easy ones to do. It just take time (of my life) to erase the damn edges of the damn flag from the damn face so it looks blured (like if you were drunk, but worst; because you're not drunk.) Took me a bit too to find a good enough woodland aussie camo for the sleeve & the damn subdued aussie flag for the gloves so everyone can know that you're a southern knight. PTV-Jobo 820 Posted November 16, 2007 Hey wipman, any advice/tips on how to do custom camo? Like generally what's your process? I keep trying myself but can never get the end product to look half as realistic as yours comes out.

wipman 1 Posted November 16, 2007 Hi, well Betsalel... i just make each colour a separate layer, use to set the transparence to: 70% & voilá, done. As i only use like 3 or 4 colours for the camo... is just a matter of paint the dirts in those different layers and choose a trasparency percentage for that layer, the shadows, wrinkles? = "arrugas?" and in some cases even some lights here and there or just with the eraser tool depending on the deep of the colour... also go in separate layers always on top of the camo, the flag or whatever you want. The sleeves is another thing... i haven't figured out yet where's the point (the line) where it matches; then i could make a costure, or various and do elbow pads or anything; same for the gloves, that's why im not able of do flag painted gloves. I hope that this bullshit helps you. Let's C ya

wipman 1 Posted November 16, 2007 Hi, sevan; what i used to open the .paa files were two programs: AlTextView & the TexView2 (booth serve, but better use the BIS one). And the faces are called: hhl_01_co.paa, hhl_02_co.paa etc etc. They're inside a folder into the Characters.pbo called: HHL. Let's C ya

Sevan 0 Posted November 17, 2007 Are these custom faces compatible in multiplayer? I have seen people using custom faces in MP. But, when I played with a few of my friends just now, I was missing texture entirely, and was completely white. It works with no problems in single player. are there special steps you take to make the custom face work in MP?
enven 0 Posted November 17, 2007 Worked for me in MP
wipman 1 Posted November 17, 2007 Hi, Sevan, your problem seems to be your graphic card; the ATI vcards don't display the .jpg textures of the custom faces. So unless you buy a GForce... no custom faces for you, "ATI vcard user". Let's C ya
