What style does it reflect?

Looks alot like the style I do (Shito-Ruy Keishin-Kai), and I spotted a small ArmA movie here, and the kata the dude does there, looks just about the same as Pinan Yondan or Pinan Godan.

So, anyone knows, or can any dev tell me, what it is?

Rastafa made a good demomision where you can select all animations and watch them. There is also that Kata animation and it's training for Kata, a very intresting style! I've almost seen it and it's great

However I think I've almost seen czech special forces that trained that kata style, so I think BI took it because of this.

Yeah I remember that one from when I was doing Shorinji-ryu karate as a kid. It's one of the earliest katas you do.

Yeh, Heian and Pinan Katas are mostly the same.

Well they are doing it in jackboots, but yeah, they'd

never have passed a grading with that performance!

The animation seems a bit slowed down, at least ive never seen anyone jump so slow

Real kata is like this;

First it often starts up a bit slower, but then: BAM! Power. Then sloooow.. Power, power, POWER! And then it keeps going like this.

The kata in ArmA just looks like someone 'walks trough it'. Basicly a kid that learns the kata and then says "Oh, I know that Kata".

Yes, I understand. I was already practicing that kata while

most of you here were probably still crapping in your

diapers.   The exact form is slightly different in detail from

the one I studied though, so it's maybe not Shotokan but

some other style.

I imagine they just did it to show off their motion capturing.

Where is your information based on?

Real Kata's that I know don't start slow or soft. All the moves you make are very powerfull and very controlled. Troughout the kata.

And what do you mean with, "there is no differecence between the different moves".... Kata's aren't always based on all kinds of fancy techniques. The basic kata's are often based on one or two techniques....

Just my thinking, could be alot diffrent in your opinion, cuz I'm doing Kyokushin karate.

Yeh, but kyukishin kai is just some wannabe karate-style, aint even real Okinawa-karate...

Besides, the arma-kata is way to slow to be anything good.
