-TheOne- 0 Posted May 15, 2006 At first this was meant to be a part of the Car Wars mod, but  they got another release up faster than I could complete this, so I decided to make it a seperate addon which also brings me the joy of learning how to get an addon from 3dsmax to OFP. But I've also started learning coding, which is a big problem, at least for now, since I don't know what is what, so help would be nice. The textures are not final(d'oh) in these screenshots, I've got most of the outside covered and after that just the inside. I'll start posting the pics, from the first ones I took to the latest ones. Well, I hope you like it: This is a 3Dsmax render:

Sennacherib 0 Posted May 15, 2006 yep, nice job. but it's sad to see ofp destroy your textures. in 3dsmax the textures are really great

-SWAT- 1 Posted May 16, 2006 I don´t like those render pix... they mostly look better than the whole addon. But i´m looking forward driving with this car.
JdB 151 Posted May 16, 2006 I don´t like those render pix... they mostly look better than the whole addon. Alternatively you could say that the OFP graphics engine is ancient compared to just about anything (even modelling programs released in 2001) The black paint could use some work, give it a little more metallic look, more shiney. wolfbite 8 Posted May 16, 2006 Do we get "THE ROAD WARRIOR" with it? no seriously mel gibson would be kool... he could also be applied to we were soldiers mod. great looking car dude

-TheOne- 0 Posted May 16, 2006 The black paint could use some work, give it a little more metallic look, more shiney. Yeah, I know, I'm trying my best with this, since I'm not the best texture maker it's a bit hard, but I'm getting closer to what I want. I can try adding more highlights, but I think I can't do much more, at least with my limited knowledge. Does anybody know something better?
Sennacherib 0 Posted May 16, 2006 do you know the lightingmap?: this is a tutorial to make that http://files.filefront.com/LightingMaprar/;5024941;;/fileinfo.html (thx to SniperSkull )
-TheOne- 0 Posted May 17, 2006 Hmm, I tried that lightmap thing, but it didn't work so well. No major improvement, but I'll try to get something out of it by tampering with some settings, hehe.
Skaircro 0 Posted May 18, 2006 Great work, Love the movies Love the Car Love the job your done Long live the Aussie V8 muscle car, long live the Ford Hardtop!
pathetic_berserker 4 Posted May 18, 2006 Great work ONE! Not sure if this will help as I havn't done a lot of texturing myself but something I learned years ago studying art is that black isn't always black and that sometimes it helps to exagerate. ie. the exterior black is currently TOO black, by that I mean it needs to be toned back 2-3%. And it might help to exagerate the highlights abit. probably need to be heavier generaly, but also be carefull of areas such as the intakes on the bonnet scoops. Those smooth unbroken lines as the bonnet flattens into the intake detract from the more subtle appearance of the real object
pathetic_berserker 4 Posted May 18, 2006 Forgot to ask Are you keeping this right hand drive? (Note to all addon makers. More RHD!
-TheOne- 0 Posted May 18, 2006 Ok, thanks for the tips, will give them a go. Oh and ofcourse it's a right hand drive, like all aussie cars .

pathetic_berserker 4 Posted May 19, 2006 Â It looks very great , but I thought there was a version of that car in Carwarsmod. Anyway, looking forward on driving that babyGreetz Rotten The version in the carwars Mod isn't really an accurate model of an Australian early 70's Falcon Coupe. My understanding is that the carwars addon maker didn't have plan diagrams of the Falcon but did his best without them. (no small feat I might add).
-TheOne- 0 Posted May 20, 2006 Exactly, for most cars you can easly find blueprints and such, but for some you really have to dig around. I got a very slightly inaccurate top drawing from somebody and I managed to get a back and side scan from the manual from somebody else. That was pretty much all that was needed since the front is custom made. I did get some pics from replica builders, I got some really nice pics from Gordon Hayes, who is probably the best replica builder out there. Well no updates for now, but soon.... Also could anybody point me to the direction of some more complicated config tutorials that would teach me how to do a bit more than change the model? I managed to get a new sound for it coded, but that's about it. No headlights. No nothing.
-TheOne- 0 Posted May 21, 2006 More pics: I updated it a bit, mainly a bit of highlights, and added some really crappy backlights, plus the front got updated(was missing the tiny lights at the bottom(foglights) but it's not here). And if you've ever watched Mad Max at all, you should know what this means:
