By the way, I play OFP at 1600x1200x32, smooth as silk with my GF3.

1280x1024x32 - I have a 21" monitor and lower resolutions look like crap on my screen as well.

Well, what do you know... I'm typing on a T23 right now. Seems like a nice piece of machinery so far. Except for its cramped undersized keyboard...

WTF! What kind of beasts are you guys playing on? I got 1GHz 256Mb (unfortunately onboard grafics) and my game seriously suffers if there is more than a small scuffle in the street, and that's at 800x600x16(or it may be 32bit I forgot).

The T-series ain't that cramped. The X-series however ...

The T- and AxP-models got the same keyboard and I find it quite easy to use. Ofcourse nothing beats a standard 104-board.

Shabadu, you gotta get a decent graphics card, preferably a Geforce2 or 3. There's just no way around it. With 1GHz, Geforce2 and 256MB RAM I have a silky smooth ride in 1024x768x32, even with a lot going on. Battlefields? No problemo.

Shadow, I must admit that the T23 keyboard is actually quite comfortable. Good wrist support.

Nope. I want a Thinkpad with a 2GHz CPU, a 64-128MB top of the line graphics chip (I believe Toshiba is or will start incorporating such a new mobile chip from Nvidia), 512MB of RAM and a 15.1" screen. Furthermore, I don't want to touch Windows XP until the rest of the world has reported all the bugs and MS has put out SP4/5/6 or whatever.

Like I said - next year. smile.gif

Mine's not a beast at all. It's an IBM Thinkpad, 700Mhz, 256MB RAM, with a very humble S3 Savage Mark IX 8MB (count 'em, Jim!) graphics chip, playing at 1024x768x32 Direct3D (HW T&L not supported) with most of my OFP advanced settings maxxed.

How's playing? Nice. I can notice just a touch of slow framerate when I play an SP mission like Battlefields, which is still quite playable.

At 1600 x 900 x 16 OFP rocks also turn ur brightness up to 1.8 and the gamma down to 1.2 or 1.3. the washed out colours come alive and the realism is increased.

This res plays on a 1.3 gig pentium 4, 256mb RDRAM on an overclocked Hercules MX2 32mb graphics card running at core and ram clock speed of 200.

i have 1 gig p3

128mb of ram(soon to be 512)

shitty 16 mb nvidia video card(soon to be my friends 64mb g2)

19" monitor at 1024*768*32

im upgrading my ram and video card, but is it the ram that really matters or the processor speed cause avon said that she only has a 700mhz with 256 RAM and it runs fine.

just remember if you get more ram than 256, OFP will not use it. I think that is a shame. I can only imagine what battles could be fought if OFP supported unlimited amounts of ram.

1024x768@32bit

350Mhz PII <- Yup, don't even make the recommended specs!

348Mb RAM

64Mb RADEON VIVO @ 216/216mhz

DirectX 8.1

You might think that I wouldn't be able to play but I sometimes go up to 1280x1024@32bit when I really wanna feel action and all explosions, lights, textures look awsome.

I'm planning on building my own system in February but my system is still running the newest games even w/all the details pumped up. I know I'll freak out with the difference w/the newer system but I'm just loyal to my first 'puter.

Are you dead serious?

My kitten's specs are:

PIII 750mhz

384 SDRAM

GeForce2 MX-400 32mb (128bit)

I play on 800x600x32, with geo at 1200, but with max lights at 32. This is with HW TL.

In-game, I have my settings at zero shadows, maxed frames, 9 visual quality.

And I get serious frame lockups.

Grrr...

Avon, you must be God.

I have:

Athlon Classic 750Mhz

384 sdram

GeForce 2 GTS 32mb

and with a resolution of 1152x864x32 HW T&L enabled I get an average of 21 fps when I play.

My processor is the bottleneck on my computer. The Battlefields mission is very slow on the beginning but playable.

Pentium 4 1.3 Ghz

512 RDRAM

Geforce 3 Ti500

1280x960x32

I guess I could run at 1600x1200 but its very choppy, its probably my monitor's crappy refresh rate...

Let me see,

I got a P4 1.8Ghz,

512MB Ram,

SoundBlaster Audigy with 5:1 speakers,

40Gig HD

an Old Geforce Pro 256 32MB DDRam

17in Monitor,

I play the game at 800*600*32 85Hz HW T&L on

as my windows Desktop is 1024*768*32 85Hz refresh rate, any higher and the refresh rate on my monitor is too low.

I use to have a P2 350Mhz 384MB Ram, Same Graphics Card, and I could play the game with no problem (1024*768*32) with detail on half and HW T&L on and a SoundBlaster Live! Value
