DLEM 0 Posted March 5, 2006 Hi. So, here are the screenshots of alpha version of US Army Infantry in ACU camo. The model was made from its initial stage, exept of few details. I would be very glad to hear you opinion, advices about details and modifications you want to see in this addon. I want also to ask permission from following addonmakers to use some parts from their addons: 1. Helmet and googles (USMC Pack by SafetyCatch). 2. Flashbang + Combat grenade (Grenade pack v 2.1 by Kyle Sarnik). 3. LLauma's head model. 4. Bobcatt666 0 Posted March 5, 2006 Base model should be updated major flaws in it that nobody ever corrects which why I hate the last two versions of ACU units. I cal em stumpy cause the arms are too short making the hands detach in most of the aminations made for units. Pretty much they look like Nuts ACU guys now, need to be better.. Shashman 0 Posted March 5, 2006 Well, this is the best attempt at representing the ACU pattern I have seen to date, but I think your actual model is flawed... He just basically looks too skinny. The legs either look too long, or they're too thin, same thing with the arms. Also I noticed some lighting issues on the various pouches to his gear in some of those pictures. If you have seen the Operation Code Blue Marines released last week, then I recommend you adopt their model attributes, as they look very realistic and actually look like tough soldiers, not a teenager in pyjamas, other than these issues, good job Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

NSX 8 Posted March 5, 2006 @Bobcat Well,you don't like NUT's ACU men,so could you do it better?I think it's quite good model.Accurate model, quite good textures (with mine 16* anisotrophy althoug),hands is one disappoint,but not too big.That's everything ok with hands with mine anims.So...well do you VBS1 models better than this one?Not too much I must say,mate...I didn't noticed something playing VBS that didn't appear in OFP. Although VBS1 has it's own very specified engine upgrades I like. As about these ACU guys...Well,we've seen it in NUT's release.Try to improve his models to level where Bobcat'll love them. The legs show some similarities but I can't say the body model is the same. Only the boots are the same (no credit has been given for those by the way?) Still looks pretty damn amazing to me.    but back on topic       Great looking units I must say, the only thing I can add has been said before, just add a bit of a tan tint to the, and you will be peachy. yes they are a nice addon, but after seeing some of lasers, DLEM's, and DMA's work, HYK seems to lack the quality these other addons have.  Parts of HYK units detail are a bit out of place and some parts are inaccurate. CameronMcDonald 146 Posted March 6, 2006 Forget my previous post, I'm having a really blonde day today. DLEM - been studying the pics <drool>. Just some points - don't forget about the velcro US Flag/Unit badge thingies on the arm - perhaps you could ask ThunderBird84 of FFUR to borrow those patches from his textures? Rather than make an ACU cover for the armour (since you already have   (silly me), could you please make an ACU camelbak and ACU pouches? This is so that primarily woodland-users (like me! can not be shot up too much, and for a bit of realism too - perhaps even two variants, one for desert, one for woodland, with the only differences being the pouches and camelbak? Another thing - please make a base model without armour and webbing for garrison use. Last thing, you may wish to vary the pouches carried from unit to unit (that is, give the machine gunner two box pouches, the rifleman 4 or so M4 mag pouches, etc etc). I'm fairly sure this can be via hiddenselections. Once your limb problems are fixed, this will be THE ACU addon to have, I'm fairly sure - the textures look really good, and the gear looks better!
