456820 0 Posted February 27, 2006 this is great but if i understand correctly there are mrak_war_1.paa all the way to mrak_war_5.paa but in this it only has mrak_war_3.paa to mrak_war_5.paa i found mrak_war_1.paa in a previous sky pack and put that in aswell as some moon textures and ICQ nvg's and it was great but how about some more clouds to make it look even better. good job
1in1class 0 Posted February 27, 2006 love this sky pack. But i gots an problem how do i use INQ's NVG the newer ones instead of the old BIS ones? ck-claw 1 Posted February 27, 2006 i actually use ECP aswell! which over writes the NVG's! you can edit the config. file in ECP to which ever 6 or so types of view u wish! So various views can be used! edit!:- this is the best sky pack so far!!! which makes this so good!! running ECP,DXDLL+modulsky and no fps drop!!
Silent N Deadly 0 Posted February 28, 2006 It's nice but personally I still prefer the classic Llauma sky. It just has a different "feel". The one cloud in the clear sky at the bottom look kinda missplaced. Good work on it though, its nice!
1in1class 0 Posted February 28, 2006 what i mean is what can i do for replaceing the old NVG's that the unit wears on his face not the image like llumana replaced the Old ones worn by BIS to an newer one how do i go about doing this?
TheWraith 0 Posted March 1, 2006 i like this mod would you belive my pc lags less with this than the standard ofp skys. card i have is a 64mb nVidia (pci) i thought my main pbo's were messed up and the decompile and recompile as i installed the sky made ofp run smoother, but this 0.85 runs even smother than the beta to, so it was'nt a pbo compression stutter so how come your better graphics mod makes my game run smoother ? it should run slower if it looks better, but i get less stutter now do you fancy retexturing everything else in the game ? if you did, i could have even more stuff on the map and still be able to run lol anyone wondering wether to try it or not, ye should do... i can already have 2 more vehicle units than normal or 6 extra troups, and i can still run withought slow motion & stutter duno what it did to my ofp but it fixed some lag and looks cool
j w 0 Posted March 1, 2006 Installed it. Took 260MB for the modfolder, but I didn't wanna fix around with the standard OFP-files, better with a modfolder. Great work!
456820 0 Posted March 1, 2006 all other sky packs dont use this much space they only use one data and one data whtl or whatever there called so why does this one use so many?
bonko the sane 2 Posted March 1, 2006 all other sky packs dont use this much space they only use one data and one data whtl or whatever there called so why does this one use so many? well, if you use hwtl you can safely delete the data and data3d pbo's on the dta folder inside @modulsky, as you will only be using the 2 pbo's on the hwtl folder...that should save some disk space. j w 0 Posted March 1, 2006 Heh, I suck at doing it the smart way, so I got a modfolder... Works for me, so I'm satisfied...
wheres my rabbit ? 10 Posted March 1, 2006 what i mean is what can i do for replaceing the old NVG's that the unit wears on his face not the image like llumana replaced the Old ones worn by BIS to an newer one how do i go about doing this? get the NVG_proxy.p3d and the installer.bat file from llauma's sky that replaces the night vision with the INQ model put the .p3d in the new data folder and put the installer in @modulsky folder and run the installer if you want different optics on the nightvision you need to swap the files named nightvisiontl <--the optics shape night_sum.01 <-- the grainy textures of the night vision night_sum.02 night_sum.03 night_sum.04 night_sum.05 note: if you change the grainy textures the nightvision effects in DXDLL wont work. if you want those effects to work delete those 5 files and just keep the .p3d and nightvisiontl texture
Student Pilot 0 Posted March 1, 2006 Awesome sky pack, I love it. However, I did run across a problem installing it. When the installer pbo'd data and data3D, it must not have done it completely, the sizes of the pbos were way too small. I went ahead and de-pbo'd data and data3D in the DTA and HWTL folders and copied your files over myself. I then repackaged the pbos, and it worked. However, whenever I play with the sky pack, OFP crashes and gives an error if I try to use the east AA laucher. I believe the error is "bad file format in p3d". Anyone know what's going on, or how to fix it? I don't get the same error playing vanilla OFP. -Pilot

You simply have to use the installer. Make sure you got enough space as the installer says. If it still doesn't work try another sky pack to see whether is the same for all or just this one. Student Pilot 0 Posted March 1, 2006 Ok, I figured out what the problem was. Â I had recently de-pbo'd data.pbo to install night visions textures I had made. Â I copied the dta folder from both the CWC and Resistance CD to my OFP directory to fix this. Â After I did that the sky pack installed fine; however, whenever I start up OFP with the sky pack, I get a new error: Error loading data3d\UralT.p3d (magic) And then when I open up the mission editor, I recieve another error message: Error loading data3d\vysilacka.p3d (magic) I tried downloading LlauMax sky pack, but it gave me the same errors. -Pilot EDIT: I got it fixed. I turned on HW & TL in OFP Preferences and no more error messages. I'm glad it's fixed, but could someone tell me why this made a difference?
TheWraith 0 Posted March 1, 2006 i think the mod makes it use the highest resolution textures and ofp is'nt defalted to use them that HW & TL is already on when i install mine (duno why) it maybe set when it detects drivers & screen resolution during initial game install
Nicolas Eymerich 0 Posted March 2, 2006 Sorry about this question but... First of all you've done a really really interesting add-on. However I would like to ask you how such add-on is CPu demanding...
456820 0 Posted March 4, 2006 well doesnt seem to drain my cpu i still get the same fps so im happy i havent noticed it slow down my ofp at all Quote[/b] ]i think the mod makes it use the highest resolution texturesand ofp is'nt defalted to use them I thought that the highest textures were 2048 these are 1024 so there half the max size The retextured malden had a 2048 textures which did drain the fps from your game but the 1024 version didnt for me. j w 0 Posted March 4, 2006 Sorry about this question but...First of all you've done a really really interesting add-on. However I would like to ask you how such add-on is CPu demanding... Depends on system. I have PIII 450Mhz, 256MB RAM (the slowest at 100Mhz ) and a Radeon 9250 128MB. Haven't noticed anything, probably cause it lagged like hell from the beggining
Julian 0 Posted March 11, 2006 Hey Voron357 The Sky pack is ausome makes the game more immersive, don't know how you do it, I got a question for you, Is there a way to create an atmosphere and it has to do with the lighting, the brightness, sharpness, or the sky overall, to create a reality like texture like clearness, basically is there a way to make the game to where it feels like your there. Creating the very fabric of reality itself, but the reality being how the world looks. What do you think? thanks Julian

action man 0 Posted March 11, 2006 Nice sky but I'd recommend you not to tough the stars. The original stars.p3d is modelled after the real stars. I had new stars in my pack and it looks cool but I personally play without.I guess you can take the moon textures from my pack. They were made by Hit_Sqd_Maximus but I doubt he would oppose it if you mentioned him in the readme. What are the name's of the files i need to add for the real stars and moon. Edit= never mind! just checked my Liauma sky pack/new data folder and the stars p3d file is the same as in this modul sky (as it already been done or do i need other files as well?) 456820 0 Posted March 11, 2006 would it be possible to make the texture oblacno.paa i think it is the normal sky one more fulffy and less 'dirty' make it look more brighter and make the clouds more fluffy and it would look much more impresive IMO Good job
