What are you looking at? The textures or the model?Because I can't really see anything that special, yeah the textures are nice but... Would be helpful if there was a standard soldier model placed next to this new one for comparison

I also say these units look fantastic, very well modelled and textured, wish i had some of the Layers he used, hehe

On the other hand i dont see a need to stop making soldiers because of the Hyk quality, i dont know if these are the best units so far but they surely are among the best.

Did I say different? I just think it's the best made model around.

Based on the pics i could give you a some reasons.

A) Right proportions

- No anorectic fellas with 6 ft wide shoulders.

B) Proper selection definitions

- Placing the zebras, brichos etc properly. Reduces skewed textures and odd looking limbs in animations.

C) Attention to detail

- The textures.

Yes the "B" is speculative but given the past releases from this nifty fella i dare to say he's got it right.

Yes the title of this thread is somewhat provocative but in the end it's all in the eye of the beholder. Read: my opinion.

LOL! Blackblood, its perfectly ok to show your open admiration, but i am sure Hushiki, a greatly admired addonmaker would never ask the community of such, because it would only open himself to a severely high degree of criticism on the addon itself.

For example, let me draw your attention to the pic whereby 2 soldiers were posing in front of the camera and another few were talking to africans - the man on the extreme right had his hands inbetween the pouch!..........

Please do not make the mistake BAS fans did - they isolated other addonmakers and their fans resulting in a high degree of criticism that even paid for addons were not subjected to, leading to disillusionment to the morale of the the team.

Trust me, addon making isnt easy at all, and no matter how refined one gets, there will be errors, more so when we all are not paid to do it while BIS gets ton of $$$ with blocky soldiers. Folks like BAS, Hushiki and many thousand others do it willingly for free. They are only hobbyists. Compared to me, i am only a 6 yr old retired kid addonmaker. Lets give them encouragement and not make them lose morale through unnecessary high expectations. Peace.

that is caused by the bis safe animation its not anything hyk can do about short of using a animation replacement pack.

there maybe a small problem for people that may wish to base there own troops on these new models ie there japanese so maybe shorter than what would want.

Oh my god take a look at this, do you see there is NO distortion when the soldier model stands and there is a collar and the crotch doesn't look funny like alot of infantry addons. Your not really an OFP player if you didn't pick up how good the models are

Notice that the 2 boonies on the right in this pic are different from each other. Great eye for detail since every soldier wears his boonie in a different way

I'm not trying to be a jackass here or anything, HYK's work looks really great, but there has been some models already released that look as good as those, eg. Offtime's WPS Polish soldiers...
