da12thMonkey 1943 Posted August 31, 2005 The carbine you posted in the second pic is in Kabal's SA-80 pack. http://ofp.gamezone.cz/index.php?showthis=5312 I seem to remember UKF saying they'll consider making the  carbine since it's now starting to be fielded. Not sure what their stance on making L85s with reciever handles/ironsights is though. Edit:- don't hold me to this though.

STGN no, it was fixed in the A1 version a small guard was added on the magazine release catch shortly after the L85 was first fielded
Daniel 0 Posted August 31, 2005 There must have been some funny/scary/emarrasing moments before they fitted the guard. Anyway, I think UK is the only country to actually use the SA80.

Would be totaly uncool expirence in OFP to suddenly haveing no mag in the gun. STGN Actually it wasnt HK. Enfield, who made the orignal weapons, changed the mag release after the first order batch were delivered and the problem was recognised.  Although the fix was crap, you could still release the mag if you hit it hard enough, it was a big imporovement. HK went the extra step with the A2 improving on Enfielfd's fix so that now you can no longer just bash your weapon on your chest and get all embarressed when you heard the clatter.  When I joined up in '89 I know a few people who had to run back down the road to pick up theirs mags when were out training.  Coming back without them was a serious offence. And yes the UK is the only country in the world that uses them.  Enfield aren't allowed to export them.  God knows why not but most other countries proably dont want 'em either I know a few guys now that have G-36s instead. It is/was a contender for replacing the SA80 in several years time. Getting back on topic... Tankie...is that going to be included in the next UKF update?
