Recommended Posts

This pack looks really good, the initial release showed your quality, but a really comprehensive release like this is sure to earn itself a long term residence in my addon folders.

Quote[/b] ]WOOOAAHHH!

BOTH YPR's look really good!

But why is there dutch writing in a turkish apc?

Dude, you misunderstood. wink_o.gif Editing YPR-765 screenshot is to show that you have such opportunity of editing the panel. YPR-765 Pack will provide you with two versions;

1) One with SFOR logo

(includes English Panel Texture as default)

2) Another with no SFOR logo

(includes English Panel Texture as default)

We planned that all versions would include English Panel Texture as default. But we changed the plan;

Now it would be this way;

1) One with SFOR logo

(includes English Panel Texture as default)

2) Another with no SFOR logo

(includes Turkish Panel Texture as default)

By editing feature, you'll be able to choose Dutch, Arabic or German panel texture for your YPR-765.

The quality of your modelling and texturing is beyond description. These could be the most detailed and realistic looking addons I've ever seen for OFP wow_o.gifnotworthy.gifthumbs-up.gif

I may just get a hardon if you were to apply the same level of detail and perfection to your air force whistle.gif

Oh, speaking of air force, I think the texturing of your Blackhawk is excellent, but the model doesn't do it justice. How about upgrading the BIS model, or asking CSLA or BAS if you could base your addon on one of their Blackhawks? Just an idea... smile_o.gif

Your highness! You will spoil us LoLL  biggrin_o.gif

Thanks for your kind words... We think that details matter...

It's not just an idea! It's a great idea! thumbs-up.gif  I absolutely agree with you about UH60 model. To confess, it was totally out of plan. While I was making demo missions I said to Murat, "Man, I need a Turkish helicopter to enrich the scene". A few hours later, he sent me its .pbo! wow_o.gif

Can you believe this?! notworthy.gif I pay around 5-6 hours for every single SFX I do! goodnight.gif He's so fast...

Actually, right now we have also some secretly made flying object models . whistle.gif Now we're waiting for Armed Assault and Operation Flashpoint 2. From now on, we plan to focus on these simulators. However, if BI or Codemasters procrastinates their releases then we can release some goodies more.  smile_o.gif

Hi,

Those YPR vehicles look excellent! I am eagerly awaiting your planned release.

A question regarding the PRAT, does the Turkish army also use the version shown on the screenshots next to or instead of the one listed on the FNSS site with the Norwegian designed TOW turret?

Regards,

Sander

Just one thing, are you sure that is correct english?

I feel like the sentence is missing a word or two.

Well, we made that panel texture from original reference picture. However we already know its gramatically wrong. Okay we'll fix it! smile_o.gif

Hey!

As Scars09 quoted above, we fixed it. I also changed all image links in this thread. So when you click YPR-765 Customization image link, you should be able to see the picture revealing corrected Engine Panel;

Now it is;

"Be sure this panel is closed before starting the engine"

We don't produce something which our Armed Forces doesn't use!  thumbs-up.gif But Murat had better post a substantial answer for your questions. FNSS site is his 2nd home for a while wink_o.gif

Hi! smile_o.gif

Murat sent me that substantial answer. Here it is;

“Nowadays Turkish Land Forces replacing their armored vehicles with new ones offering higher technology. If allocated budget covers, YPR-765 armored vehicles aren't going to be used by TAF (Turkish Armed Forces) anymore. These vehicles which Turkey manufactured and used are the first generation of ACV300 series. To tell the truth, ACV300 series of FNSS and TAF are much more superior. Old versions have PRAT TOW 2 system. Because of lack of reference, we made YPR765 AIFV instead of making the vehicles FNSS manufactures. Turkish Army renewed TOW2 system on YPR-765 PRAT though.

Furthermore by RECCE 2000 Program, SCIMITAR vehicles are going to be replaced with new wheeled tactical reconnaissance vehicles.

For more information you can also read this article but it’s only in Turkish.

Thnx for the heads up its just that I taught they were Koren Vehicles becuase they looked really simular to the k200 KIFV (korean infantry fighting vehicle) and they k200 KAFV (korean army fighting vehicle).

Source - Global Security.com

My mistake

*My mistake the k200 KIFV was based on the US AIFV (Advanced Infantry Fighting Vehicle Project) it was designed to replace the m113s in the early 80s but the US dicided to update the MBTs instead the project was still opened to the US allies and was later devloped to meet the specifications of the South Koreans, I'm pretty sure Turky being a NATO memeber has dicided to adapt the AIFV to their specifications

Call me kooky but without them, I find it lacks a finishing touch.

Everything looks great so far though. thumbs-up.gif

Hey!

Murat sent me another hot message. He's too busy right now so I'm posting for him...

"I researched and found that, Germany doesn't use YPR-765. Therefore making German Engine Panel Texture doesn't make sense. We gave up doing it. Following countries use YPR-765;

Bahrayn, Belgium, South Korea, Egypt, Holland, the Philippines, and Turkey.

If I remember correctly all YPR's are based upon the design originally created by General Dynamics and which was originally supposed to have been a cheaper alternative to the Bradley M2 IFV.

All of the current YPR's are, from my understanding, built under license from General Dynamics.

hi Miles Teg  smile_o.gif

I don't know production licence of YPR-765. I can give additional information about FNSS.

FNSS Defense Systems Inc.

www.fnss.com

FNSS is a Turkish-American joint venture company formed by United Defense of USA with 51 percent share and Nurol Holding of Turkey with 49 percent share, being the first Turkish private sector company in defense industry.

FNSS currently builds Armored Fighting Vehicles (AFV), Advanced Armored Personnel Carriers (AAPC), Armored Tow Vehicles (ATV) and Armored Mortar Vehicles (AMV) for the Turkish Armed Forces. Other than vehicle manufacturing, FNSS carries out prototype work on different types of vehicles through the Research and Development Department it has set up. FNSS is also capable of upgrading aged and worn out tracked armored vehicles and M113 vehicles. FNSS also performs studies on various weapon systems for installation on vehicles.

Besides vehicle production, FNSS also provides its customers with after sales services such as all kinds of user training including 5th echelon maintenace training, as well as spare parts supply and repair and maintenance support.

FNSS has been transferring United Defense's technology to Turkey through the armored combat vehicles manufacturing under licence by United Defense and thus contributes to Turkish Armed Forces' integration of modern technologies. FNSS has the most advanced computer hardware and software and uses CAD/CAM (computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing) and direct numerical control systems compatible with modern defense industry.

FNSS has an annual turnover figure of 87 million USD as of 1999. Representing the Turkish Industry at NATO Industry CALS Group in its field, FNSS has also been certified for AQAP-110, the highest quality standarts of NATO, and ISO 9001 Quality Assurance System, obtained from Lloyd's of UK.

Besides serving Turkish Armed Forces, primary objective of FNSS is to obtain export opportunities for Turkey. Our attempts are promising in Malaysia, Jordan, Oman and Kuwait where we are making intensive marketing efforts in addition to UAE. FNSS is about to sign a contract in Malaysia for 211 vehicles in different configurations. An intensive work is being carried out to sell some FNSS made Sharpshooter Turrets to Jordan besides upgrading some of their M113 vehicles, to sell various vehicles to Sultanate of Oman, to sell new vehicles to Kuwait besides upgrading M113 vehicles, and to manufacture several hundreds vehicles for the Interim Brigade Combat Team program of the US Army.
