miss_cleo 0 Posted July 28, 2005 While practicing my texturing skills for the SEALs i was working on i whipped up these babies: give me a week or two to finish the wound textures and clean up the config and these will be released!! they will come in desert, woodland, special forces and CQB versions. Gedis 0 Posted July 28, 2005 they look good, but i don't get one thing, what they are dressed up? it's night camo?
miss_cleo 0 Posted July 28, 2005 that camo is meant to work against older generation (read: soviet) NVG gear
Kin Hil 0 Posted July 28, 2005 Lets get a shot of them in night vision then.
Gedis 0 Posted July 28, 2005 soviet nvg gear? oh, ok, now i understand... well, we are waiting for them...
456820 0 Posted July 28, 2005 nice pics but what about the desert coloured boots ? shouldnt they be black or a darker colour ? nice models though keep up the good work
FerretFangs 0 Posted July 28, 2005 Isn't there a new version of the camo, that's digitally pixilated, like the Army and Marine Corp camo patterns?
miss_cleo 0 Posted July 28, 2005 @456820 the models are HYKs. The camo is only an oversuit that goes over your regular BDUs, so soldiers in a desert terrain would still have the desert boots. I am making a woodland version that will have black boots as well as woodland helmet cover, body armor etc... @FerretFangs I have not seen an updated version of this camo, but if you know where i can find pics id be interested... ebns72 0 Posted July 28, 2005 I have never seen this before, got any real life pics of it in action? Is that also what this is? Would be awesome if you could make a nighttime blackop like the one above.
1in1class 0 Posted July 28, 2005 looks awsome but useing those HYK units is err would be cool if u could like chang there belts like to an diffrent vest ammo belts, like LSR did but like u could use the HYK unit just chang the belts that thay wear with there ammo give them an green vest and ammo and stuff Would be an realy good one here. Beef them up on there belts and vest equipment etc.. plz this addon would be awsome just plz make them diffrent in the equipment on there belt plz
ExtracTioN 0 Posted July 28, 2005 Looking good but the colours look too greenish try to maki it abit light green/greyish. Hope this helps
offtime 0 Posted July 28, 2005 i agree with Extraction, little desaturation should help ;-) @Extraction, your SAS could also use that, making black little lighter (very dark grey instead of total black) and desaturated blue. washing softners dont work perfect, black on used clothes is never 100% black ;-) and blue, desaturation in PS on 40% - thats my advice ;-)
ExtracTioN 0 Posted July 29, 2005 Allready improving and making the textures make better Offtime m8
Bobcatt666 0 Posted July 29, 2005 Yes still hav mine in the closet, it was a failure and p[hased out durring the first gulf war. Along with the cholate chip verssion of the DCUS. That was replaced with tri color DCUs. Just the top was commly worn durring the night due to the high winds that blew over the desert most troops didn't bring coldweather gear so anything that could be worn extra was used including these. Pants were pretty much useless due to it had no pockets and was just a covering like the field pants worn in winter.
FerretFangs 0 Posted July 29, 2005 I was under the impression that the current digital pattern effectively broke up the outline through NVG's too?
Bobcatt666 0 Posted July 29, 2005 It works better against the human eye to break up the outline of a human or equipment covered with it, oddly enough this stuff was more effective against our own NVGs at the time. The current digital cammo is to work on all levels of visual sighitng its kinda neat oddly testing the Army deset digital cammo it was very effective nearly got me run over on a few occassions cause the vehicle driver didn't see me till I waved and threated to open fire on his 5 ton truck. =p Most of the protection goes bye bye when its washed a number of times. Even more so if the uniform gets touched by starch.
miss_cleo 0 Posted July 29, 2005 ok. @1in1class: These are meant to be late 80's early 90's era troops, so no fancy vests or chest rigs for these guys. This type of camo is no longer being issued, although i have seen some SF guys wearing the jackets over in Afghanistan. Which leads me to: @Extraction: I will lighten these up a bit. I was thinking the same thing myself about the colors... I made them a bit to dark, be cause the game tends to lighten them up a bit as opposed to O2... I had problems with my black BDU seals because of that. If you wish to use this camo for your CIA guys after ive reworked it, let me know. @Bobcatt: Thanks the info. Ill be removing the pockets from the trousers, and maybe adding a version with the Chocolate chip pants as well.
Bobcatt666 0 Posted July 29, 2005 They have flaps allowing you to reach itno your BDUs to access the cargo pockets and such through em.

miss_cleo 0 Posted July 29, 2005 this thrift store is about a mile and a half from MacDill AFB. With Centcom right there the goodwill always has camo and boots...not to mention the Italian Paratroopers i saw shopping at the publix there last year.
Fork122 0 Posted July 29, 2005 Oh, that's pretty cool. The Goodwill in our town never has anything good. Now you can sneak around your neighborhood without having to worry about the Russians spotting you
