scottlee 0 Posted October 12, 2005 One question to thunderbird84If it will be possible to use custom textures to replace the textures in your incoming pack  (Just i don't like to see Malden in "green" version ) I mean, if the textures will be placed in one pbo like in FFUR 5 (woodland) beta or it it will be same Dta folder like in OFP with pbos for all islands I just ask for it because i'd like to use my new textures for Malden (2048x2048) which will be released soon (i hope ) with your GREAT FFUR PACKS here a few exemples of our textures http://img252.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dxdshot11277229472fq.jpg http://img252.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dxdshot11277226363eq.jpg http://img145.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dxdshot11234027994cc.jpg http://img302.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dxdshot11234018924ck.jpg http://img145.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dxdshot11234040288ec.jpg http://img302.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dxdshot11234015381km.jpg http://img64.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dxdshot11162537417gc.jpg http://img101.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dxdshot11162624437mf.jpg http://img302.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dxdshot11208112882nx.jpg http://img252.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dxdshot11277230579hs.jpg http://img252.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dxdshot11277232205iv.jpg Wow, they're awesome! If they don't get used in the actual mod, I'm sure we can make an optional extra pack... I'll ask TB. I'd like to know if you've tested them. Any chance for an extra pack using these textures? Kyle_K_ski 1 Posted October 13, 2005 I don't want to sound pushy, but wouldn't it be wise to post them for download as they are finished? I'm sure that I'm not the only one who plans on downloading every version when they're released. If they're all released on the same day, the demand is just going to be monstrous, and is likely to result in a lot of headaches. Releasing them one at a time will most likely curtail the glut that would otherwise occur. Kyle
edfromballarat 0 Posted October 13, 2005 the topic is huge upcoming release, not huge upcoming releases! Plus, these guys are working their butts off for nada so that you can play a sweet, sweet game. So I think they've got the right to release it however they damn please.... Plus, the releases are all sides of the same coin, so to release one, is to release them all. But I agree, the bandwidth will surely be tested. but, you know, thats just my opinion PS. I'm so excited that everytime I click to see if it is up yet... a little bit of wee comes out!

Thunderbird 0 Posted October 13, 2005 Hi all, I spent some hours today on re-texturing Hyk US Army Soldiers (2005) . Have a look New ones Big thanks to ShadowNx for the nice BDU camo. I hope you lik'em previous ones We would like to know which version do you prefer , the new or the previous one ? Regards TB84
CJE 0 Posted October 13, 2005 I love it. Nice work.
stgn 39 Posted October 13, 2005 I think you should redo the legs the pattern aint that big. On second thort since your are retexturing the unit your self I could send you a bare template of the woodland texture I use just using shadow NX colors and a not so obious RIP stock pattern. All they would need is shadow and lightning if you want to try PM me. STGN

Thunderbird 0 Posted October 13, 2005 Thanks , will contact you ASAP STGN, btw , we'd like to know which version of US soldiers do you prefer , the new ones showed a few minutes ago or these Hyk Enhanced ones by Benus. Regards TB84
456820 0 Posted October 13, 2005 there both great but yours TB are better since they look more like the actual pattern used by the US army thats what i think
Shadow NX 1 Posted October 13, 2005 Nice use of the textures, only one suggestion the pattern is maybe bit too big.

marcomio 0 Posted October 13, 2005 Both looking nice, think using the version from benus with its old pattern for the FFUR 1985 woodland-part and the newer one from TB for FFUR 2005 with its all new stuff. But dont postpone the release for it.
breaker44 0 Posted October 13, 2005 The old one was better *sorry!* My BDU's have brown within the pattern, the retexture is too green. Plus, the "straps" on the canteens dont exist in real life. The canteen cover clips onto the belt or load bearing device, there are no straps on the cover. -Breaker Out
Kyle_K_ski 1 Posted October 13, 2005 Thunderbird84, I don't mind waiting a little bit longer for the 2005 release if it includes an important change for accuracy, such as updating the BDUs worn by the American troops. That's a pretty big deal in my book, and it's worth waiting for. I really can't comment yet on the accuracy of your latest infantry update, since I haven't seen a G.I. in person for a while now. I could look up some pics online, but sometimes what one sees in a photo looks quite different in person. I trust with the community that we have here, you'll soon be swamped in reference material to make sure that the update is super accurate. Kyle
456820 0 Posted October 13, 2005 from what i remember it looks pretty accurate maybe the patters are too big more swipres on it but apart from that it looks pretty accurate, right colour and look good job but it was a while a go i last saw a news report with US army in it but from memory it looks pretty accurate and it looks nice
