Yeeeeeeeeees. Excellent work, downloading now.

Excellent work! Â I have to ask, though, while waiting for the next release would you be able to reupload the version 1.1? The download links keep giving me 404s, and I'm getting an 8kb download speed on the 1.0. If you can, or someone else can upload it quick I'd appreciate it alot. Thanks in advance.

The helmet? I think the same as their current camo with maybe some webbing attached or something. Assuming that would be done with textures, since I know nothing of the topic. However I think the helmets would look nice with some cheap goggles attached or some random accessories. I figure Nogova could afford some goggles for their troops, along with some other random second hand or civilian equipment. Now, this suggestion is only my personal preference but I feel all of them should have a flak vest, perhaps Vietnam era like this. I just think it'd look better than just their camo, and since these vests wouldn't be all that expensive and they would allow for easier storage of smaller items of gear something like that could very well be given to regular Nogovan infantry. Their special forces could be given a more modern kevlar vest or something. Just my opinion, though. Keep up the good work. They're coming along great.

An early morning combat patrol in Afghanistan. The comabt patrol returns fire as it is ambushed in the desert dunes. Airborne troops are dropped on a patrol to root out insurgent cells. A sharpshooter takes aim from a tower in the mountains of Afghanistan. The sharpshooter waits patiently as he surveys the villiage for his target... Addons: CAT, FP2, CBT, BAS, DxDll Great screens @ all. -
I did not know that, and I'm not so sure on that one... According to the Resistance site Nogova is a former Soviet socialist outpost turned independent democracy, with a weak economy and a somewhat unhappy populace. That, and it is located a short distance from the Malden archipelago, which I forget where that is but I believe it was either the Black Sea or the Baltic Sea. I believe it was the Baltic, since the Baltic can be accessed by both eastern and western European nations. (the French and Spanish influences on Everon and Malden) I've been away from the community for a while, though, so my ramblings are probably meaningless.

I remember this was brought up some time ago, but anyway... With Nogova in such a hotspot, the US would probably be overjoyed to get a base on it directly after the Soviet invasion. It, like many other nations, would probably recieve a nice little bonus for their defense budgets during the Cold War, much like how Israel gets a ton of cash each year for their little projects. So with this boost, and US support pretty much guaranteed, they can afford some western weapons and better training for their troops with minimal hit to the civy economy. After the Cold War ended this support from the US would probably be cut off gradually, but some European nations could possibly see an advantage to continuing support for Nogova in return for either land for bases or trade, etc. Perhaps that is how older British weapons could tie into it all? Or even French or German weapons? The EU would probably even assist Nogova in growing economically and militarily, giving it a bit of a boost. I mean after the Soviet invasion Nogova's economy could probably get a nice boost from NATO nations moving to support it. A nice little industrialization could even be in its future. Who knows? In any case, great work so far. Can't wait to see the finished product.

I visit our forums everyday, but alas they have fallen quiet. That, and it's getting swarmed by spammers. Haven't seen Typhoon in a while, either. And I've just been lurking about for a while in the OFP community. I figure this is as good a time as any to make a comeback.
-
News updates for ya'all: Typhoon has enough time to come back as a full member (thank God), so I'm not alone in picking this back up off the ground. So, I've got a little help. Still looking for Shinkansen... Anyone? I think I forgot to add him to my address book. I'll see about PMing him. I also added a temporary page as a redirect to the forum so we at least have something there until I can get something that looks good in place. Typhoon has decided to help out with the site, so we should be good there... I believe tis about it for now. Crave out.

Thanks for the good luck, guys. @scotchsoldier 'Fraid not, my friend. We're currently in a very deep coma until I can get it jumpstarted.

Alrighty guys, got some bad news and some... bad news. No, we are still alive, but we're in one hell of a coma... Typhoon contacted me recently and informed me he will be unable to continue and has left me in charge. So, in other words he's going inactive for the time being. He may be able to get back in some time in the future. Also, has anyone heard from Shinkansen? I haven't seen him around in a while. Then again, I may not be paying close enough attention. Anyways... I'll prolly be working on putting up a website over the weekend and seeing about some other stuff. In the meantime you can reach the forum at http://www.somme.ofpbase.com/Forum/index. Thanks for keeping an interest, people. Â Crave out.

I'm worried about how character switching may kill a storyline. If you play as the main character, it would be kinda weird to switch out of his body, and it would be especially weird if he were shot while controlled by the AI, but you started as him in the next mission. I'm also worried about how people may use it to get from one objective to another, instead of going the old fashioned way.

Yeh, I know that. I'm just surprised nobody picked that up and started yelling "OMG CONFIRMED RELEASE DATE!!!111!!!!!111!!!!11!!!2!!!9" like they have with every other article that gives some sort of date. Â

Ah, I can't wait for it. However, I'm amazed nobody caught on to: Unless I missed something in the thread.

An RAR file is a compressed file, much like a Zip file. There are a few programs around the net which you can use to unzip RARs, such as WinRAR. WinRAR After you install it, the RAR should appear as a stack of books. You can just double click it and unzip, and installing it should be easy to do.
