lono 0 Posted June 15, 2005 Cheers lads, well we only plan on doing Normandy once, and we want to do it justice. So we aim to get it right first time round. With regards to the weapons, we easily have all versions of the common weapons done. We even feature more rare weapons, just so we dont leave anything out. We currently have a task list for weapons that show we have about 117 weapons to do, at the moment we have about 70 done. So you can be sure we have all the main weapons, with most variations. If we miss something just give us a shout and let us know. We are not above making mistakes, errors and other human flaws. We strive to do our best on this project, so get in and get involved with us, thats the only way you will be certain that we make the game you want to play. Also we have Alpha spots, that allow people to get their hands on testing the game and mods before they are officially released so get into our forums and get active and you could be on the Alpha Team testing the game at each and every step of the way. Balschoiw 0 Posted June 16, 2005 I know this conversation should most probably taken to your forums, as this is a company forum on a specific product but as you seem to be into it really motivated here´s my 2 cent. From overlooking your page and progress you´ve made the concept doesn´t sound that fixed as other comparable program´s are. I´d like to see that realized and I like the idea of taking other sides as well. I am german and computer games don´t handle that issue quite well imo. I mean, soldiers are soldiers, they do what they are told to do on every side of the table. So while it may have a bad taste to highlight some german military scenarios it would be historically correct to do it. I will sign up at your forums and see if I can be contributing. BOP_101TFS 0 Posted June 16, 2005 The FAQ Quote[/b] ]... 7. Who is to say, Operation Flashpoint is one of our alltime favourite games, and to be considered in the same league as it is a great honour, we are inspired by it and how it plays, and aspire to create our own unique game with the knowledge of it in our mind. At the moment I would say Operation Flashpoint is the closest , Hidden and Dangerouse (1&2), Soldiers : Heroes of WW2 and Total War Series would be our key influences ant what we aim to achieve is a blend of gameplay inspired by those titles. http://www.1944game.com/forum/showthread.php?t=
Bordoy 0 Posted June 16, 2005 Thanks lono, i am sure you and your team will do great on it. And take your time, never rush anything or the consumers won't like it.
Espectro (DayZ) 0 Posted June 16, 2005 This looks awesome guys! Though... get rid of that health bar Anyway, isnt it scary that other developers are answerring more questions here on the bis board than bis itself ?
PainDealer 0 Posted June 16, 2005 This looks awesome guys! Though... get rid of that health bar Anyway, isnt it scary that other developers are answerring more questions here on the bis board than bis itself ? you got that one right. it makes me nervous when I think any game could even have a chance to top OFP with it's features
lono 0 Posted June 20, 2005 I never plan to compete with Flashpoint, its personally one of those games that I simply love playing. There is no heath bar, nor there is a health guage of any description, we use the physics and stats on the unit to determine their physical state (injured, alive, dead, dieing etc.) I've take 4 years to get this far, I doubt I will be rushing it any time soon, we are indie developers so we can easily afford to spend the extra months on the game instead of rushing it out the door. Also if you want to bring this convo to our boards, as opposed to hear. While I know its off topic, never the less its still a game board and Im not sure if we should discuss another product here. But if the admins are cool with it, I am up for answering any and every question you may have.
privatenoob 0 Posted June 26, 2005 Since the maps in the mods are so small, I guess the game-mode will be another infiltration-rush game or how will it work? What will the objectives be? Will it be worth bying HL2 to play it or should I buy BF2 to get the most of it? Sounds good you have OFP as a rolemodel, its the best rolemodel any game-DEV can have. privatenoob 0 Posted June 26, 2005 Of course I will buy that one too, the full game will be the real deal but it feels like a long wait.
