Accuracy and Realism

Hi, one of the things that i'll like to see in the OFP2 (by BIS) it's repressent things like the MFD's in helicopters or any other vehicle; will help a lot the players to have working MFD's, HUD's, Radar screens inside the vehicles; where they should be placed and working as they'll do it in the real vehicle (or closer; this is a game). If the pilots or Drivers could switch the MFD modes by pressing the "Alt. fire" key, then we could think in use only the info given to us by the sensors inside the cockpits and play only in 1St person view without loose vital info for our own suvival plus the units in the cargo.

Also IR systems like googles, scopes, & the MFD's plus those "holo-visors" used by the AH64 or AH1-W pilots (and many others) will help the players to feel the capavilities of the machine that they'r using; instead think that they'r in a green or grey coffing, useless and defenceless in the middle of a battlefield where there's no civilian units (population), animals or any other thing that don't be: Friendly, Enemy, Neutral AI units scripted or just there to make it look better.

Anyway... i'll like to see working MFD's and systems in the OFP2, i don't like to just seat inside a cartoon box with a fanzy look like and think... "mmhhh the target area is at 1400m, i could park in the peak behind the AO, leave the vehicle and then enter on foot". I'll like something good, not just that. Let's cu

Choppers in OFP are already very strong imo. Though I like your idea (hey! it's for realism!), I think it will seriously limit the ammount of choppers that will be deployed.

Choppers = end of mission, is that really what you want? rock.gif

Hi, no gandalf; that's not what i want. But fucks me a bit see those MFD's, alert radar, needle clocks & other things not working; even if the working MFD's were just 2 or 3 textures to show the cargo stores, the dammage levels or the remaining ammo; the alert radar will be harder to simulate in a infantry (ground forces) FPS tactical simulator as is the OFP & i think that the OFP2 don't gonna lost that feature. But, i know a lot of helos that have IR sensors, like planes & all the tanks; that "lantern" over the barrel of the INQ_M60A1...?! that shit it's a museum piece; it's not a simple light, it's an IR reflector, u could see a 4Km/6Km beam going from the tank to the "infinite", it's ovbious... that the source of that IR light beam (the rusty iron) will be: a M41, a M47, a M48 or a M60; i don't know if the east tanks use that kind of reflectors to enlight targets; but anyway... IR googles, IR scopes, IR sensors... will be needed in a 2010 battlefield based game. The helicopters have more fire power than the infatry units?!, YES; that's why they'r an advantage. The tanks have IR sensors to spot infantry units vehind bushes, soft cover, or inside buildings?, YES; even the M60's A1 or M48's A3 or A4 i don't remember now... but damn; all this systems that the real vehicles or some weapons have, will help to simulate the actual battlefield tactics; the war between armys or small forces with modern equipment, require some modern tactics; this is not vietnam. Over all in the yankee side, if u remove 'em all they'r fanzy toys, the logistics & all that tax payer "pressents" to the department of defence... they'll be as inutile as a broken arm; i'll like that at least the OFP2 refects some of those features, keep in mind that in the OFP we can shoot with the main gun, the coax MG, adquire objectives as commander using our eyes (no other help than the zoom) & drive 'em; that's all. I'll like something more, and as closer to the reality as possible, i love the OFP & i trust in BIS, but damn; i want the best of the best.

P.D: I'll like that the BIS crew listen to the model changes that Maa sugered to 'em, i agre with Maa in that. We already gonna have the best of the best from a begining; the U.S.M.C. from the begining; THANX BIS. Let's cu

I agree with the helicopters,I also think that they should be more scriptable n such,err.....for instance helicopters in OFP can have only 2 working horizons,I think it would be nice to have atleast 4 maybe 6 able to be usable,for instance,the ball horizon and the MFD horizons in the cockpits,theres 4 right there,plus if you have something like IHADDS then thats 1 for the pilot and co pilot/gunner so theres 6.

Perhaps the best thing to make the game with less limitations but also give the community to continue to revolutionianize the game.

Hi, i'll like to see different anims to hold "X" weapons, is not the same to hold a L86A1 than a G36K than a M4A1 with/without vertical handgrip, than a M1A Scout than a FN-P90. I don't know how this could be achived, make a fixed anim for each weapons could be a bad idea, but make custom memory points that the in game anims adpts to 'em... a FN-P90 it's bullup, but it's holded like a Steyr AUG?, no; they don't look like even similar. So i think that different ways of hold different weapons will be great; vertical handgrips, bullup weapons, pistols, revolvers, SMG's, MG's, ATM's, AAM's. If there were some way of reflect that the soldiers receive a intensive phisical self defence training that'll be also very good. LMB1 = punch.

LMB1 + whatever Arrow = left hook, rigth hook, right straight, left straight.

RMB1 = kick.

RMB2 + whatever Arrow = Side kick to the knee, to the shin, to the balls, to the groin.

RMB1 + RMB2 = Head attack.

x2 LMB1 = rigth straight, left hook.

x2 RMB2 = kick to the stomag mouth & kick to the face or the neck.

x2 CMB3 = hold by the neck of the jacket with the left arm to the left neck of the jacket of the opponent & the rigth to it's rigth jacket neck & then hit him with the head right in the nose, letting him unable to win.

Please get rid of the burst facility on the AK47 and AK74.

Why are Stinger misiles so weak against OPFOR aircraft. While the SA-7 can easily destroy BLUFOR aircraft.

Will I every see an official addon for the RPK-74.

Please don't allow Russian Federation troops to use 1985 era equipment if its set in 2010.

Combat load is terrible.

Please use realistic combat loads.

For example, the RPG-7v gunner will not be armed with an assault rifle but a pistol if he's lucky.

Please don't include oversized equipment loadouts. Such as the M203 grenade taking up 2 inventory slots, this has been rectified on VBS1 recently in a patch. If going to include a LAW system please don't use the VBS1 system. Please base it on a weight ratio system or TO&E.

Why can't you make all inventory slots universal. So that other items can be stored in the pistol inventory slots.

Please include mines both AP and AT it adds alot more depth to missions.

you could have HARM screens and Maveric screens, or walleye, I like on ofp1 addons the working hud systems I think that should be upgraded to more realistic looking. I think the dials are fine for alt. and speed, and speed gain. but having realistic looking ground and Air to air radar would be really cool. and add some nukes too. lol there are some good addon nukes but some are laggy and others just look fruity. I'm sure the makers could make one TIGHT nuke. that would shake the ground you stand on.

but I like the idea buddie. it would be cool on choppers too I guess. like on oh-58 I'd like to be able to use the top globe while I fly low behind a tree line and look with the globe using thermal, heck, just having thermal goggles would be really cool. along with night vision and binoculars have some thermal goggles, and add in some futuristic land warrior units

Couldn't find this, so here goes:

How about the ability to pickup any ammo type, or possibly ammo crates (man portable cans?) The purpose is to be able to resupply others. Right now, we can only pick up our weapon ammo, and can't support teammates with different weapons.

Thats what I was thinking. If I have some empty storage slots and I find some ammo that other players in my squad use, i want to be able to carry it for them. I think any soldier should be able to pick up anything they find if they have the storage slots for it, including any kind of ammo independent of what type of ammo they use.
