Guest Posted January 16, 2002 Thanks Suma for clarifying. Avon, maybe you should add this to your FAQ? So the next person who asks can again be referred to your site?

WAKINYAN 0 Posted January 24, 2002 I feel curious about how is modelled the bullet trajectory in OFP. Clearly it seems that the time of flight is modelled; shots at long distance have the impact later than at short distance. Also, it sems that bullet drop due to gravity is apparent at long distances for snipers. which is the physics model for the trajectory? is true that the trajectory is drawn parabollic due to gravity and air drag? it´s also modelled with real time travel? is the model working only with the snipers or all shots have the same model? If this is so, AT LAST we have a tactical shooter that really tries to simulate...well, that; shooting.
WKK Gimbal 0 Posted January 25, 2002 Some weapons have a fake simulation, like the grenades. Sometimes you receive damage before the grenade explodes

Yes, all shots have the same model - only some coeficients (like ammount of air-drag) vary, therefore the trajectory is not exactly same for different kind of shots even if speed is the same. WAKINYAN 0 Posted January 25, 2002 Thanks a lot Suma for answering my questions. So, there is a complete model for the bullet trajectory, even with particular drag coefficients for each type of ammo!!! You should use this feature more to publicit your product even more among the "hard core simmers" that have been waiting for somethink like that since ever. All the other features of OFP have the same quality. I´m amazed with the quality of your product, purchased it last week and i´ve passed all the week sleeping only three hours each day There is a possibility of knowing somethink of the ballistic model and how it works when the editing tools will be released, in order to make mod models of new weapons?
