AtStWalker 0 Posted April 26, 2005 Hello all i've under costruction a tut about the making of a Tank (or a Panzer if you're a German guy) BUT i've a stupid problem... i don't know what's the english name of this little wheel (see the pic 1). Tannethal 0 Posted April 26, 2005 Hi AtStWalker, from one German to another, may i hold out my hand? As far as my english language skills reach i'd call this little wheels above the groundwheels: "return rollers". At least that's what they are called on various occasions by native anglo-americans. In Deutsch sinds die Stützrollen. ;) Aber frag mich nicht wie man im Englischen auf return rollers kam. BTW: This drive system looks suspiciously russian from the looks of it. Best Guess would be a KV 1 2 or 85 variant or is it from one of the IS heavy tanks? S! Und weiter viel Erfolg mit deinen AddOns! S!

DeLiltMon 0 Posted April 26, 2005 Yeah, return rollers is what they are, with the others being road wheels. Stupid thing is, I saw this post earlier and my mind went completely blank as to what they were called It was before my first cup of tea of the day though

Imshi-Yallah 0 Posted April 26, 2005 Isnt an idler the term for the one at the opposite end of the track section to the drive socket, as I recall from AFV rec the only term used for the part in question is return roller. (But then we dont have any tanks )
stevevcb 3 Posted April 26, 2005 Yeah, the idler's the one opposite to the drive sprocket.
