Ranger Bob 0 Posted April 25, 2005 Hey, i recently got a new computer which is a peach but i have a problem. When im playing Operation Flashpoint (only OFP - typical), it will sometimes randomly load the wrong textures onto a model, another problem with it is I will get large 'holes' in my world. It is really frustrating, i have anti-aliasing turned off (yep, OFF!). Anyone know why and how it can be resolved? Thanks... Here is a shot of what it does, i could be driving along in a jeep on everon and it would happen: [ig]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v423/Ranger_bob/help.jpg[/img]>100kb Oh, and my new specs: Windas XP SP2 AMD Athlon 64 3000 (2ghz+) 512 MB DDR RAM nVidia Geforce 6800 LE 128 Mb 160 GB HDD Flashpoint specs: Hardware T&L on Multitexturing On (does it with off aswell) View distance <1000 Terrain Detail normal I have the latest drivers, have tried reinstalling the card, reinstalling the game, checked my video aperture size, boosted my virtual memory. orson 0 Posted April 25, 2005 24-2-181 whats that all about Matrix dust ? Floating rocks ? very odd
orson 0 Posted April 25, 2005 Try this ... Start / Run / dxdiag Check your running 9.0c check for any error messages it certainly looks like a dx error from the screen shots .
Acecombat 0 Posted April 25, 2005 The matrix is real then , that pic proves it .
Victor_S. 0 Posted April 25, 2005 Ive had some of the wierdest problems with ofp ill never understand it.
raedor 8 Posted April 25, 2005 the numbers look like the ones from cbt addons, the tank looks like from rhs does ofp "typical" mean without resistance?
Ranger Bob 0 Posted April 25, 2005 Its resistance, i was saying typical for another reason! Anyone have any idea?!! Dxdiag is fine, have DX 9.0c... Note, this bug happens everytime i play the game!
CJE 0 Posted April 25, 2005 I got Matrix dust playing Colin Mcrae Rally. But, ofp.. I didnt know ofp would be capable of that.
Placebo 29 Posted April 25, 2005 Are you using -nomap?
Ranger Bob 0 Posted April 25, 2005 yep! Please don't tell me it's a faulty card!
shinRaiden 0 Posted April 25, 2005 What do you mean by 'latest' drivers? 71.84 has been crappy, and I'm loath to try 71.89. Frankly I had to go back to the oldest 6x series that would support my 6600gt in order to get the stability I wanted.
Ranger Bob 0 Posted April 26, 2005 Where can i get older drivers?

DBR_ONIX 0 Posted April 26, 2005 ..this may seem a bit obvious, but have you tried running without DXDLL? - Ben
Ranger Bob 0 Posted April 26, 2005 Yes. I reinstalled it and ran without addons - version 1 - still buggered... version 1.75 - still buggered... version 1.96 - still buggered. You get the picture?! 6x series drivers made no difference. I think i may be getting my own computer in a few months, but until then... Oh, and thanks Sanctuary for the link. DBR_ONIX 0 Posted April 27, 2005 Just one thing, has OFP ever ran properly on your new PC? - Ben
Ranger Bob 0 Posted April 27, 2005 Well, it used to do the bug rarely, and only on larger maps (tonali) now it does it all of the time, even as a man on desert island.
BraTTy 0 Posted April 28, 2005 Are you overclocking your video card? I notice you say 6800 LE. Have you tried OEM video drivers because your card may run at a specific speed that isn't the same as other LE's.(you didn't say what brand your video card was) Running something that opened up pipelines on the card? I would try underclocking the videocard,if that fixes it,its possible that the video card has bad chips
Ranger Bob 0 Posted April 28, 2005 What are OEM video drivers? Are they generic drivers for certain chipset? Its an nVidia Geforce 6800 LE. I don't know how to overclock/underclock my card...
BraTTy 0 Posted April 28, 2005 OEM: Original equiptment Manufacturer ie: The company that made your card The chipset of your card is Nvidia ,but I doubt its a Nvidia card (could be tho) Sometimes you have to use OEM drivers if your card is different Mines a xFx 6800,and I use the generic drivers from the Nvidia website To over/under clock, use the Coolbits registry patch http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=
