HotShot 0 Posted September 20, 2005 After seeing Parvus's Red Storm Rising screens, i thought i would give it a go on another TC book, The Cardinal In The Kremlin. These are some parts early in about the Mujahideen rebel in the Soviet Afghan war, 'the Archer'. This is how i thought of some of the scenes. After battling with Mujahideen rebels in a valley of Afghanistan, the Russians call in air support. The Archer, on a mountain out of the way of the battle, locks onto the Mi-24 with a CIA-brought Stinger A local chief of a band of Mujahideen attack a Russian base guarded with the help of the Afghan Army. The Archer takes out an Mi-24 as it starts up, and locks onto an An-124 as it takes off to avoid the battle Despertly trying to get out of the battle, the Antonov's pilot goes for speed over altitude, leaving him easy prey for the Archer The Archer searches the crash site of the Antonov before the sun rises to get to it before the Russians, in order to search for material useful to the CIA. All the crew is dead but a Russian officer who is all but dead The Archer and his band return to a refugee camp at the Pakistani border, managing to grab a lift in two captured BTR's The Russians atatck the refugee camp with three jets, believing it to be a terroist hold out.
