Rommel 2 Posted March 19, 2005 Pictures For Reference: I found these on google. The actual F-35 Joint Strike Fighter is currently still in its development stage, but should be in use by the year 2010. Just search F-35 Joint Strike Fighter on google.com for information on the airplane.

Rommel 2 Posted March 19, 2005 Its a Request. I believe also that it could be a really good plane, if it was done correctly. Looks absolutely awesome in real life.

Rommel 2 Posted March 19, 2005 Looks near the F22 ;) I like the JSF X32 more ;) . . . F-32 . . .
Desert-Rat 0 Posted March 19, 2005 I only know it under X-32 and X-35 and the X-35 (F-35) looks very close to the F-22 ;)
MontyVCB 0 Posted March 19, 2005 the Y/F-22 and the F-35 would look the same as they both came out of lockhead martin's skunkworks. but i do think the f-35 is alot smaller tho
Desert-Rat 0 Posted March 19, 2005 The F-35 has only one engine too ;) and is smaller right much smaller is the X-32 F-35 Span (ft) 35 Length (ft) 50.5 Mach 1.9 X-32 Span (ft) 30 Length (ft) 46 Mach 1.5 F-22 Span (ft) 44 Length (ft) 62 Speed Mach2 The F-22's engines produce more thrust than any current fighter engine especially in military (non-afterburner) power
FerretFangs 0 Posted March 20, 2005 Ahem.... F/A-22, and F/A-35, respectively, when they are produced. These are multi-role aircraft.
dabitup 0 Posted March 20, 2005 The F35 And F22 look awesome but I don't like the weird looking new ones. Well, they're okay but I like the current fighters. Sadly we have to move on.

Acecombat 0 Posted March 20, 2005 whats the difference between a F-35 and F-22? They look pretty much the same
Desert-Rat 0 Posted March 20, 2005 The F/A35 has only one engine is slower and smaller than the F/A22
Acecombat 0 Posted March 20, 2005 The F/A35 has only one engine is slower and smaller than the F/A22 Now i must question the wisdom behind making a inferior version of the Raptor? Let me guess , probably to sell to other countries
Desert-Rat 0 Posted March 20, 2005 Well i don't know , i think they need some new planes ;)
cobra@pulse 0 Posted March 20, 2005 An SVTOL version of it is available thats why. Because it is smaller and slower, it would be cheeper so there can be more of them to the F22. Plus it is suitable for carrier landings and take offs. Thats why.
hardrock 1 Posted March 20, 2005 Also in opposition to the F/A-22, the F/A-35 will have Vertical-Take-Off capabilities won't it (only the B version I think)? The F/A35 has only one engine is slower and smaller than the F/A22 You sure?
FerretFangs 0 Posted March 20, 2005 And, it's a lot cheaper. The F/A-22 is the alpha and omega of fighter design. And thus, it's cost prohibitive to build in large numbers. It is the replacement for the Eagle in the air superiority role, while still being able to deliver precision-guided ordinance as a stealthy ground attack fighter to help justify it's enormous expense. The F/A35 on the other hand is not as sophisticated, capable, or stealthy as the Raptor. It was meant to be the replacement for the F-16, ( and the F/A-18C/D, the A-6E, the AV-8B, the A-10, and several foreign made fighters of NATO partners. ) and would be the workhorse of the services. It could be produced in larger numbers than the Raptor, and yet is is still supposed to be capable enough to be a good investment for potential buyers. It's stealth, combined with stand-off ranged, precision guided ordinance will make it one tough customer, indeed. SAM radar capability and missile range will have to increase dramatically to effectively counter this new generation of fighters.
Guest RKSL-Rock Posted March 20, 2005 ....The F/A35 on the other hand is not as sophisticated, capable, or stealthy as the Raptor..... I thought we'd already had this kind of debate once before... It will have some feature the F22 will never have and most (not all i admit) of the electronic capability of the F22. Read the link for more stuff.
Spark 0 Posted March 20, 2005 The F35 will remplace Harrier too. The F35 has VTOL capablity, but it isn't a fighter, it's more a Tank-Killer or a fire-support like a chopper.
dabitup 0 Posted March 20, 2005 well that sucks cause I like the harrier + A10 and all the others it will replace.
