Is the new version already uploaded and in the link in the first post, or should I not download that version? Oh yeah and I want to try out your disarm feature because when I first started making scripts for ofp I tried making a "cut the right wire" type of disarming script and failed. Hope to see how yours works out.

As for my part I'll try to explain how to use the modiffied script.

You can doo it the old way.

Or like this :

1) create "GameLogic" object and name it somehow (GL1 for example)

2) [bomb,7,31,GL1]

##the bomb's been armed.

4) GL1 setpos (anywhere further then 1 m. from bomb)

##you've just disarmed the bomb.

Point 4) can be done anyway you want, for example by adding an action to the bomb<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">bomb addaction["diosarm bomb","isarm1.sqs"]and then creating disarm1.sqs in a mission directory that would look like that:<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">GL1 setpos [0,0,10]

after a little brain storm with Panda we have almost ready for tests new scripts system

1. after placing mine in editor (those clock triggered) missionmaker will need to define time of explosion, player will be able to disarm bomb (25% that bomb will blow up while disarming)

2. bombs triggered by cell phone will blow up when they detect movement of GoodGuys group close to the bomb but with condition that at least one member of group BadGuys will be still alive.

also another IED will be added, this time artylery shell triggered by cell phone.

for now download liink still covers old version.

how about stacking some of those bombs in the back of a car or something... on the backseat of those small bis cars or something.

More for eyecandy and missions like EOD missions... wow_o.gif

well from all the footage Ive seen about IED's and terrorist propaganda movies where they are blowing the crap out of humveh's and well actually all sorts of vehicles..

Most of the time the thing goes off like mad...

On that PBS documentary a humvee took a hit from an IED and everyone there was more or less fine I think.

There is some customization.

In next release there are standard BIS explosions (that's how bombs usually go off) PLUS particle effects made by scripts that imitate dust rised by a shockwave trough sending dustclouds outwards from the point of explosion.

Maybee add some dust that rizes, after a explosion in such dusty terrain as iraq it will block view for some secs depending on the wind and such... Also dust will rize up due to heated air from the blast... just an idea it is good enough... biggrin_o.gif

Im working on iraq missions on the unreleased Najaf map from Goon!

Seem's like this slowly turns into an "all you need to make a nice mission" kind of addon. Oh well.

I'm thinkin' of making the cola-trap into a phosphorous bomb through adding some fancy scripts. If this turns out right then the same scripts could be used for makeing Ph grenades. I'm of good thought. Offtime is just scared. That's just the ambitios vision, so Offtime please don't add any nasty comments wink_o.gif

Wilco, I don't know what you're talking about in regards to that pair of underwear (holy crap - I feel like a parent right now) but I don't think anything malicious was meant by it. If you think otherwise and can explain your reasoning and context, PM me. But as it stands right now, I just see a pair of boxers with firecrackers on it. All that comes to my mind is some lewd jokes.

Wilco just posted the wrong picture. They now produce them in 3-color desert aswel, since research concluded that the pattern shown in Wilco's picture is not effective. But the will indeed protect you;

That's a "No"!

RPG's are too precious to waste'em for such applications.

Plus that would be totally ineffective:

the shaped charge of RPG is densigned to produce great amounts of heat, not a massive shockwave and dangerous fragments. It has little potential as an AP mine...

I dunno man... I really wouldn't like to update it too many times but on the other hand the only thing holding us back is that PH script. We appriciate the intrest, yet let's hold ourselves from sending posts that really soon will be outdated... ;) We're almost ready, so no fear.

Taht's the Ph version of the script for cola-bomb. I't looks impressive, yet isn't that much of a danger. Like previous one it uses BIS standard grenade, so the effective range is resonable.

Addon is now 99% complete and I'm right now trying to contact Offtime to have him check it and host it.

He seems not to be there however.

Actually I have a place to host it. I simly have doubts 'bout what will Offtime think about it...

He started the addon and he should be the one to host it.

Yet the weekend is dead ahead and leaving everyone in suspension while the mod is practically ready feels kinda not right (I know you're dying to see it).

So in Offtime's (and mine) name I'll host it as a beta release on Silver Kelpie Studios:

Oh yeah. If you encounter any trouble and you read readme, then report them to my PM, or in this thread. It's a Beta because it was tested only a few times, so i might've missed something. ahh, now it's working, thx for the fast reply, gonna play a little bit with it now

edit: first test: really nice, functions worked, only get the error message ingame, when i put this into the init line:

[this, 7,31]exec"\off_ied_Iraq\IEDsmall.sqs"

then i get the error on the top of the screen:

'_bomb setpos[_pos select 0, |#| _pos select 1, (pos select 2)+ .0.1]': Error select: Type Object, expected Array

and the on the can-model seem to be some missing lods, as i can easily crouch through it and dive with the weapon into it, but the idea and the models are really well done *thunbs up*
