C-130 as helicopter class

I was wondering if it would be possible to make an AC-130 by taking a C-130 model and making it work like a helicopter so it could mount a doorgun. It wouldn't be fun to fly, but it would allow some really nice close air support.

I tried that spooky script but it only works with helicopters, not planes

teh curretn ac130 is not that good...

u cant use any missiles witht that thing on teh map...

But to reply to the starter of this thread;

NO! It would suck! The AI would indeed use it as a chopper and hover over a target to engage it. Can you even imagine; A C130 hovering over your head?  crazy_o.gif

A very bad solution. If there will be a solution to this, than it has to be found in scripts combined with the plane-class.

well

u coudl try to give the chopper a bump

with setvelocity

we us similar script for our ds to speed it up

so it can fly ove 600 kmh

without crashing into ground

I have seen the current AC-130. I know that they exist. I am not trying to debate if it would be good or not. I just wanted to know if it is possible to change the C-130's class to a helicopter. I just need a simple yes or no answer

That'd bring up another problem aswell, helo class can only have 2 rotors, unlike airplane class. But that could be scripted though.

If you take a look to the Wanzer Pack, you can notice that one of those Wanzer is behaving like an helicopter , but has a script that add an action able to make it to make it to fly like a plane.

Maybe if you made you C-130 in the helicopter class, you should add a script like this (maybe not in action , but activated permanently)

Thinking again about it, this script would really be great for Sole Osprey smile_o.gif

yes its is possible, and many ways to do it.

1. give the model a heli config with the correct heli memory points. But beware that the nose of the chopper 130 will point downwards when it moves.

2. use a delete vehicle script for a flying 130. make 2 units of 130 - one a plane, the other a chopper with a pos switch in the memory so that when u want it to hover, click to activate a script that will delete the flying 130 and respawn a chopper130, with the correct driver and gunner movein codes....and vice versa when u want it to fly back again.
