Now whoever said that the CWMOD make low-quality or even average-looking units is invited to kiss my back.

Great work!

We didn't do sabers, no.

I believe the Napoleonic mod have working sabers, but we stuck to the revolvers fired from the saddle for close up fighting...

Hey everyone, I love playing this mod at lan partys and such over here, doing a great job.

Just had one question, will the "briefing taking the ammo off of soldiers with muskets" bug persist through the next version? Have you fixed that? Sorry if this has been mentioned before, I just wanted to check.

Thanks

Dieman

@ BadAss

Sorry, but Pickett has retired from OFP.

Quite deservedly, as he has worked hard for this mod since its begining.

Now Bigus_Dikus and several other talented people are in charge of the missions.

@Dieman

We have cheated the usual OFP 10 clip limit, by giving a man over 60 individual rounds, each reloaded separately, through several config twists. It works ingame mostly, but messes up briefing.

A safe bet is putting an ammo wagon in missions, and you can rearm there...

3 of the 6 were killed or wounded in action during the Civil War.   wink_o.gif

But you are right, with the possible exception of Stuart, none of them fought personally.  I'm just being a nerd anyway, dont take me seriously.  The mod is outstanding and I cant wait for the new updates.

Well...actually I wouldn't mind swords one bit, but it does take a whole lot of modifying to make it look good.

1. What  type of weapon would they be? Rifle or pistol? That would determine the set of anims they'd use for walking, standing, etc...and neither set looks too convincing for a sword...

2. Ok...just the sword attack anim shouldn't be a problem, but details such as...would the sword handle still be visible from the scabbard if a guy held the sword...

...so, after considering all the fuss for a rather minor improvement of the whole gameplay experience, I just didn't want to get into this. Of course if one of you wants to do it, feel welcome.

For a fighting general, such as J.E.B. Stuart, his favourite handpiece the LeMat revolver is available, and he knows how to use it wink_o.gif

Thanks for explaining. Didn't know if they fought upclose or not.

Here's a couple of rebels in coats.

First pair in regulation CSA coats, and second pair in captured Yankee coats, and pretty damn ragged too (something like the poor fellas of Hood's Tennessee campaign).

Shoe detail from the ragged rebels:

Anyway...you've got a couple more days to come up with any uniform requests or suggestions you'd like to see (that don't take too long to make, or would delay the release...)

Poor rebels, broken shoes and cold weather = not nice, not nice at all. Luckily, dead yanks don't need their boots so...

Well, on my behalf everything is ready, I have nothing to add, but I am still waiting for final products from a couple of contributors. I'll wait till the last moment, but otherwise should release it sometimes these days (as 'before christmas' didn't mean 'before christmas 2006'wink_o.gif...

Hey fellow soldiers!

I wish you a merry christmas! Keep up the wonderful work - looking great so far!

Yours,

Longstreet

P.S.: I was wondering are some of the maps (f.e. Gettysburg)getting redone too? Just to get rid of 'em "new style" houses (with TV sets and stuff) in there and some trees and bushes still hanging in the air (f.e. on Little Round Top). I've even seen some grass stuff that is looking good while roaming around - would be a nice touch to add making the environment even better looking). Ah well just a few thoughts here ;)
