Hey guys,

A mate of mine known as Brattacas is currently working on your modification as a texturer. We were talking about Operation Flashpoint a couple of nights ago and he said that the modification needed some help, as i'd also seen it publicised on opflash.org. I'm very interested in history and especially the military and would be very happen in contributing to the modification in any way i could, perhaps taking the role of historical research as i have many books on world war one which would also help in relation to mission making. Are there any plans to work with Over The Top Modification?

PM me if you need any more help,

Thanks

Yeah the screens look great!

Shinkansen is there any room for me on the modification as a historical researcher? I enquired about this position a little way up the thread but never got any reply to it,

Thanks mate,

Hi,

this is now a common problem in some models with a more or less complicate surface, especcially ship hulls. Check faces will produce no error messages on those models, but these "major lightning errors" ocure when using "optimise" on the structure. Maybe someone has a solution how to fix this without redoing everything....

select the faces and press U smile_o.gif that makes the lighting flat, that MAY solve it smile_o.gif

Any updates on this one?

Or is it suspended because of all the other things on your schedule shinkansen (pirate ships, pacific war, etc.)?

You seem to be one of the busiest modders out there wink_o.gif

jus sayin yeh.. no ww1 mod is complete without trenches.

well, just need a west front island with build in trenches. that should be fairly easy for a skilled mapper wink_o.gif

they're right, WW1 was very much based on trench warfare there was not as much air combat and the first tanks were been created, the tank off indiana jones is a WW1 tank how about using that 1

I just watched a series called WW1 In Colour (6 episodes). it really gave a good picture of how things were back then. of course it was mostly crawling in trenches and the casualties were huge.

about planes: the first planes were used for scouting as they couldn't carry weapon loadouts and shooting forward was dangerous as the bullets smashed the propeller. then a french pilot Roland Garros tried protecting the propeller with a wedge shaped piece of metal. he succeeded in shooting down 9 axis planes before he was forced to land in hostile territory --> his secret was out. due to the weight of the metal pieces and the bullets flying god knows where when they hit the propeller the germans wanted another workaround for it and contacted a dutch aviator Anton Fokker who invented the synchro between the planes MG and engine. after that the germans had the upper hand in the air and the planes were used more and more and at the end of the war they were equipped with torpedos, bombs and machine guns. the planes were also used as submarine spotters/killers.

about tanks: the tanks weren't much used in the beginning but when they came in the allies advanced quickly and eventually broke through the "Hindenburg line"

in the sea there was only one big clash between british and german navy but the german subs were hunting all the time.
