Maybe you should request the moderators to make an obituary thread so we can drop by and cry a little every now and then! If it had been Nelson Mandela or anyone like that this thread wouldn't be pointless!

Bernadotte 0 Posted October 6, 2004 Sad. Â Quote[/b] ]My wife and I were happy for twenty years. Then we met! When I was a kid my parents moved a lot, but I always found them. A girl phoned me the other day and said .... "Come on over, there's nobody home." I went over. Nobody was home. I drink too much. Last time I gave a urine sample there was an olive in it. I haven't spoken to my wife in years. I didn't want to interrupt her. My uncle's dying wish - he wanted me on his lap. He was in the electric chair. During sex, my girlfriend always wants to talk to me. Just the other night she called me from a hotel. I could tell that my parents hated me. My bath toys were a toaster and a radio. I was such an ugly kid... When I played in the sandbox the cat kept covering me up. I was so ugly... when I was born the doctor slapped my mother.

der bastler 0 Posted October 6, 2004 *sigh* There goes another one. Quote[/b] ]Who is this Rodney Dangerfield? The answer's free, available on the net... http://imdb.com/name/nm0001098/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rodney_Dangerfield Guys (and gals), there's a huge library out there in deep netspace, only two clicks away, called the web. Use it, mostly free (and harmless, as The Guide would have described it)! By the way, Janet Leigh died Sunday. What, you don't know her? Want know more? Try the net. Actually, my reaction to this thread was not about the lack of knowledge. It was all about me being grumpy about a pointless thread. Why the hell should there be a thread about people who are of no particular relevance to humanity. We are talking about a second grade/ B movie actor who played the starring role in "back to school" - not Mother Theresa! I have an idea - why don't we make a thread about fucking princess Di who made so many children happy the rest of their miserable lives! Quote[/b] ]By the way, Janet Leigh died Sunday. What, you don't know her? Well, what do you think. I'm 33 years old and saw Psycho before they even thought about making stupid follow ups!
der bastler 0 Posted October 6, 2004 That "rant" was not addressed to you in particular. More general. Because it seemed to me that people can access more and more knwoledge and do it less and less. Anyway, somebody seems to remember Rodney Dangerfield...

brgnorway 0 Posted October 6, 2004 Sorry for my aggressive behaviour. I'm getting personal about any- and everything nowadays. I have a strong feeling it has to do with me quitting smoking  Ever tried alternative drugs like coffee or sweets? (can't sleep atm, had a cup of coffee ) Well, the only current side effect when quitting smoking is a certain jumpiness. Not very fond of sweets - but I drink (as usual) a lot of coffee. What has helped though are long walks with my dog (always done that) - longer than usual. I'm talking 3 to 4 hours every evening. Tomorrow my buss card needs cash refill. So I purosely forgot to bring cash and will have to walk for 1.5 hours to get home after work - only to walk my dog as soon as I unlock the front door! So, if I'm walking myself to death do you think they'll mention it in a thread?   If they do it's not because I'm funny though! Damnit - I'm making this a separate thread! GoOB 0 Posted October 6, 2004 Well, many people have come to like this guy for what he did. If you find the thread pointless, don't post in it. Which is the least you can do to show that your'e not an ass. I know your'e a good guy, but IMHO the way you acted was disrespectful to both Rodney Dangerfield and the people who posted their (insignificant?) respects in this thread. R.I.P Rodney. Disrespectfull or an ass - I couldn't care less! If people want to praise him for being funny that's quite alright with me. The point is that if he's significant enough to make a thread/obituary about then we could fill up the 3 first pages with obituaries of "not so important people" . For Gods sake, we are not talking about Charlie Chaplin, but a person who did great things for himself and caused joy for several others. But in the end he was just a guy who succeeded and was lucky enough to enjoy it for over eighty years! The person we are talking about is not a Hitchkok, Chaplin, James Dean, Bergman, Ullman or any other person revolutionizing the film in general. He was just a funny guy and hardly worthy a thread in this forum!
