Quote[/b] ]I saw a peanut stand,

Heard a rubber band,

I saw a needle that winked its eye.

But I think I will have seen everything

When I see an elephant fly.

I saw a front porch swing,

Heard a diamond ring,

I saw a polka-dot railroad tie.

But I think I will have seen everything

When I see an elephant fly.

I seen a clothes horse he r'ar up and buck

And they tell me that a man made a vegetable truck

I didn't see that I only heard

But just to be sociable I'll take your word

I heard a fireside chat

I saw a baseball bat

And I just laughed till I thought I'd die

But I'd been done seen about everything

When I see an elephant fly.

Sorry, but I don't think that the ofp-engine will be a good base for all that animation stuff you want to have.

And is it worth all the work?

I think it's a great idea. I hope you find someone to animate this.

Good Luck!

animals behave far too random to be in a game, and an elephant is so big even the slightest movement is noticable ( flapping ear , slurf moving a bit , scratching leg)

i wish you luck, but all the animation that has to be done... must be some animator then crazy_o.gif

hey Monodo. This looks great. If a dog can be animated in OFP and a kangaroo for VBS then it is possible for an elephant as well. The biggest problem is getting it to work, however Teacup would be the man to ask, as he worked on the dog, as well as made a Maya rtm animator plugin.

Good on you for thinking outside the square.. OFP needs more lateral thinkers and creative people like you smile_o.gif

however... i was saying that for example a dog pisses against a tree , scratches its head , barks , goes hunting , digs a hole... can you animate all that and make it work without taking in too much CPU power?

That will not take much CPU power at all, just have a script that chooses an animation at random (more dynamic things like hunting will take slightly more scripting, but still possible to keep the CPU usage down) Making the animations will be much more challanging though.

I would let the addon makers worry about faces and polys.

3D Detail = faces  , if he made an Ephilump with 1724 faces he did well .

BAS choppers it has been stated is around 5000 - 7000 depending which model u use , and they are very stable addons .

If the LODS are done well enough , even lower spec users can enjoy them without to much of a FPS hit.

Texturing its wrinkly hide will be a challenge for whoever  tounge_o.gif

Mig just released a number of animals ,cows ,ducks ,chickens ,his mule nd a rooster ,all fully animated.

Sincethose are finished now ,maybe he can help you animating the elephant ,he seems to have taken an interrest in these things anyway.

check it out at ofp.cz
