Laser 0 Posted August 30, 2004 Here comes my first attempt to model a weapon... just don't get too harsh on me, people This gun is intended to be used as a silenced Designated Marksman weapon, for both Deltas and Rangers once they are updated. I also plan to add Aimpoint or (and) Â Reflex versions. The PilotView LOD has about 1500 polys, since i had no decent texture to make a RIS. All the LODS are in place, so there should be no problems with performance. This weapon will be released as a part of my updated US weapons pack. Anyway, look at the screens. FerretFangs 0 Posted August 30, 2004 Thank God, someone decided to make the SOPMOD! That's one of my favorite guns of all time, fo' shizzle! Keep the screenies and update info comin'!
orson 0 Posted August 30, 2004 One hundred and thirty three t . Â Â Hmmmm ? ( ) Well anyway..... it looks like a Ruger under all the rail mods ? But the fore-stock looks like a H&K ( cant remember which ) No doubts its a real firearm and a very good job to . Â you sure this is your first attempt ? If so its the *ahem* ..bomb , even if its not your first , its still teh bome !
FerretFangs 0 Posted August 30, 2004 Oh, it's a real weapon, all right.... real awesome! http://images.google.com/imgres?....rl=http
Laser 0 Posted September 2, 2004 OK, here are some screenshots of the Rangers' update. The work is actually nearing completion, except for a few details. The BDUs have been reworked, for a more realistic look.
Wachtmeester 0 Posted September 2, 2004 Did you noticed how the left hands are placed on the weapons? I won't fire a gun myself that way.... Anyway very nice work!
Laser 0 Posted September 2, 2004 @Wachtmeester: Yeah, i know that, it's going to be fixed. It's actually weapon problem, not the sniper model. BTW, the M40A1 was originally made by Ghost in the Grass. I only added new Harris bipod and LODs. And here's another variant of the M14 SOPMOD - different suppressor model and Aimpoint Scope. FerretFangs 0 Posted September 2, 2004 What scopes do you have? I see an ACOG, and an Aimpoint. ANy others planned like a long range Leupold, for instance?
UsMarine408 0 Posted September 2, 2004 Nice all around one thing though on the Desert rangers you should do something about there boots they look silver
Laser 0 Posted September 5, 2004 What scopes do you have? I see an ACOG, and an Aimpoint. ANy others planned like a long range Leupold, for instance? Well, i would consider adding Leupold if i had decent texture references (a good side photo would do) and an info on a targeting reticle.
@cero 0 Posted September 5, 2004 Laser, the hand possition problem don't seem to be just in the M40A1, in the middle pic they seem to hold the weapon in a very extrange way, lol. Looking good anyway, you never stop surprising me, that's the kind of things that makes people become fans. About the M40A1 again, have you change the reloading times on it or you gonna live them like the ones from Ghost in the grass? I know that in reall life it gets loaded manually, but ingame its a bit far to long in my opinion. Regards. @CERO.
FerretFangs 0 Posted September 5, 2004 What scopes do you have? I see an ACOG, and an Aimpoint. ANy others planned like a long range Leupold, for instance? Well, i would consider adding Leupold if i had decent texture references (a good side photo would do) and an info on a targeting reticle. The Leupold Mark 4 is same scope used on the M24/M40A1 SWS, and the M82A3, using the standard MIL DOT reticle. http://images.google.com/imgres?....rl=http http://images.google.com/imgres?....rl=http http://www.bonardo.it/images/cannochiali%20leupold.gif http://images.google.com/imgres?....rl=http Alternatively, instead of the old Aimpoint M68, the Leupold Mark 4 CQ/T would look good on the M14 SOPMOD. It uses the "cirle w/red dot" aimpoint reticle, with variable magnification from 1-3X. http://images.google.com/imgres?....rl=http http://nas1.gbhinc.com/pixhost....024.jpg http://images.google.com/imgres?....rl=http http://www.combat2000shop.com/combat2....008.gif
Laser 0 Posted September 8, 2004 @ FerretFangs: Thanks for the pics, mate. I'll see what i can do with them @@cero: Well, the way they hold the guns is caused by the custom animations anyway, so it's also not a soldier model's fault. As to the M40, i still make adjustments (BTW, can anyone tell me just how long does a manual reload usually take?), so it would be a compromise between playability and realism. And meanwhile, here's a couple of screenshots of my M240B.
FerretFangs 0 Posted September 8, 2004 An experienced crew can do it in 15-20 seconds, under combat conditions. 20-25 is probably nominal.
@cero 0 Posted September 8, 2004 Yes, but that can be really anoying ingame. If that's going to be like that the player should be able to get something instead, Acurrancy? Sound effects? A cuple of nice tunes to listen while reloading? @CERO.
FerretFangs 0 Posted September 8, 2004 How about keeping their heads down, and keeping their brains intact? 10-15 seconds doesn't seem so long.
