Scorpion released a Seahawk before i believe, or something close to it. Perhaps you could mix that with the coast guard mod's script for lifting people up out of the water and have something really special.

The choppers of the USCG pack will be updated with the winch lift script but the Seal choppers won't have the winch script, fastrope and ladder scripts are ok for Seahawks wink_o.gif

For missions like a downed pilot in water you can use the USCG choppers wink_o.gif

I just wish a military chopper had all those features, something that actually goes in the field and coast guard only guards the U.S. coast so....

I think the SBS are also now using those VSV boats.

..

This pack is shaping up to be REALLY nice.

To start with I was just expecting a scattering of interestingly equiped men and some different weapons but those vehicles should take it that bit further.

i may be wrong but i have heard of our coast guard units here pulling security for the navy over in the gulf

they do more than guard our coast

Yeah, U.S coast guard is a branch of the armed forces, they guard harbours and coastal facilites, track boats, board and search vessels, they do the same stuff in iraq, i read an interview with a U.S coastgaurd who had worked with GROM while he was over there.

Yes, they ARE present in the Gulf, and a Coastie died not that long ago boarding a vessel running the arms blockade. They have small cutters there for vessels, I'm not sure what else.

During the war, WHEC Dallas (A US Coast Guard cutter, the initials stand for White High Endurance Cutter) served as plane guard for my air wing (CVW-3), which was embarked aboard USS Harry S Truman. Plane guard means they position themselves very near the landing pattern of an aircraft carrier so that they can rescue any aircrew that may have to eject.

They have a whole deepwater project going to upgrade their abilities far from the coast.

They are not just a Knee-Deep Navy! unclesam.gif

I'm proud of you boys.

i am too. saves me the trouble of saying everything that was said. smile_o.gif

on the off-topic subject of the USCG, the USCG-Mod, Iraq, and Combat Rescue, an early beta of the HH65 should be around soon. it wont have the winch script yet. but if you are using the Y2K3 mod (with the special raft.pbo for the pilots) where the east and west pilots can bail out over water and be placed in a raft like the USCG pilot... the dolphin, when flying close, will be able to pick up said pilot right away (just pops in cargo)

the seals look nice extraction smile_o.gif

*Trolling for attention*

Standing STL

Sitting STL

Please note the pictures were taken on my computer

which as you can see, has a very poor graphics capability.

(Notice for all whiners Protec Is all gone.)

*edit*

New approach, thats the "cake" you see, in other words

the basic body parts and so on. Do we want to say that

the "cake" is "done"? When people for the most part feel

the "cake" is done I'll move on to the "Icing" and "Candles"

being the finishing touches and unique features.

So what does the "cake" need before we think it's "Finished".

IE what needs work on the current model applying to texture,

size, model. Maybe it's a bit early to think of it this way.

Then again I am still measuring out the "ingredients" and it's

not in the oven. So speak now or eat the cake as it is,

when it's baked.

*edit*

More pictures. Excuse the one hand, animations are

doing things to it. crazy_o.gif

Hmmm... cake looks a little skinny. Thighs should be thicker than the knees. Biceps should be noticably thicker than the wrists. Some operators might blouse/tuck their trousers. Some might roll their blouse sleeves, and/or bottoms of trousers. Some might wear various styles of gloves. Some may not wear a cover. Some may be bald, like me. Some may wear various forms of cover, including: boonie, watchcap, doo-rag, ball cap, rolled bandanna. Some may wear green towel, shemagh, bandanna, bandage wrap around the neck. Cake could use a tan, or cammo paint to hands, neck, and chest. Cake needs about two dozen pockets. ( Or are those candles? )

Keep the cake comin'. biggrin_o.gif

Yeah cake is basicaly the mans body.

Iceing is what he wears and candles are the scripts. tounge_o.gif

Rolled up sleeves will come with the differnt men.

Everything on that list is on my list to implament.

One question which will determine the outcome,

do we want "A Seal Team" and each man to have

5-6 changes of cloths, or just "A Seal Team" with

dudes who have preset duds.

In other words. Immagine oppening the editor.

what your going to get. tounge_o.gif

I prefer the first one as well. It's different, its funner, and you aren't limited to convention. Like somebody might say aw man i don't want to be machine gunner he has the wack ass hat on his head, or he has no hat, or something. You could either do that, or use scripts to change headwear in game. Lol. That would greatly interfere with getting into vehicles really fast though.

What about a script that randomly selects accessories at the mission's beginning? The second menu works better, simply because I'd want to select the men out of necessity for their purpose in the team. It's more simplistic. The fashion show isn't all that important to me.

What about putting it like in the real thing"

Depending on the area of operations:

- West:

- Seal team one:

- Seal team one recon "Pointman" (Changing the function name)

- Seal team one assault ".."

- Seal team one CQB ".."

etc

hmm?

Well that was a little obvious. It wouldn't make sense to

have a fashion show but it's the idea.

If everything randomly selected what happens if there's

an annoying "Easter Egg" or the men all look the same?  rock.gif

Some one did suggest to me a long time ago to allow

people to open a single menu during the start of the

game and allow you to customize then have a "Close menu"

option which would remove the scripts and ability to change.

At the moment I think it's wise just to go with variants.

*edit*

I hope to implement a 'wet cloths" script along with swimming.

Provided I get an animator to do some anims, which will

be coupled to a vehicle like in the COC system. Wet cloths

is simply a texture change when your man goes "Below" the ground level were water occures.

US SOCOM? As in US Special Operations Command. A ton of different groups fall under this category. I would suggest making it more specific. Like US Navy or something. Keep up the good work, I am looking forward to these units.

US SOCOM Naval Spec Warfare.

Is that the right branch or no? crazy_o.gif

It's NAVSPECWARCOM, actually. US SOCOM is a seperate entity. USN SPECWAR personel are tasked to USSOCOM, as needed.
