USSoldier11B 0 Posted July 8, 2004 1. U.S. Army Special Forces do not wear their berets in the field anymore. 2. We do not wear kevlar, except to jump and for MOUT operations.

Rishon 0 Posted July 8, 2004 1. U.S. Army Special Forces do not wear their berets in the field anymore.2. We do not wear kevlar, except to jump and for MOUT operations. Are You SF? I've seen Green Berets. They wear Body Armor, Infact, the only reason they can wear all those Hats and Shorts and T-shirt, is because their commanders don't really care, they know what they are doing. When you don't wear Body Armor, any idiot with an AK can F*** you up, and likely kill you. Now, Helmets (I perfer to call my helmet a brainbucket, and my Interceptor, Kevlar.) SF does not wear unless on a DA/CQC Mission. Even then It doesn't do much.
USSoldier11B 0 Posted July 8, 2004 When I refer to kevlar I mean only the helmet. It's what we call it, except now we have the new MICH which is smaller, lighter, has great padding and a better chin strap. Yes I am in an SF unit. 5th Bn, 19th SFG(A). We do wear the body armor, the new stuff is worlds better than the old flak jacket. With the trauma plates in, it will actually stop a 7.62 x 39 RSR.
Rishon 0 Posted July 8, 2004 Ok, I thought you meant the Body Armor. 19th SFG huh? Cool, I'm 4th ID. I hope to join the berets. AAANYway. I agree with 11B here about the Brainbucket, You'd better make them without it.
USSoldier11B 0 Posted July 8, 2004 Yeah you're gonna offend some people if you have longtabs running around looking like some gun bunnies.
Rishon 0 Posted July 8, 2004 Wow, thanks for that. I aint no Gun Bunny, I just like how guns look. You need to respect a gun, not love it. Now, gotta get back on topic.

monty67t 0 Posted July 8, 2004 Well I started this thread quite a long time ago looking for someone to make some U.S. Army Special Forces. Not in BDUs or regular uniforms, but in the type of gear they used in Afghanistan. PIC 1 PIC 2 First, thanks to Extraction for working on the project. Second, thanks to all of you for the input you have supplied. I believe the new units that BAS is getting ready to release will be somewhat like what I am looking for, but I'm not sure. Good luck on your SEALs Extraction, I am no addon maker so I can't say much, my only advice is take your time. After your SEALs are done and you are ready to switch back to the SF project, please let me know. I have some material you could probably use. My buddy over in 5th SFG is getting ready to deploy but I still have a ton of info. Monty TO: Rishon and USSoldier11B I am at Fort Campbell. I have only been here a couple months. I did a three year tour in Alaska, then came down here. Shoot me a PM and maybe we can play together sometime.
