FerretFangs 0 Posted July 15, 2004 Weren't all the scripts and such for removing the dive gear explained by CoC mod's Combat Swimmer addon? I don't know but couldn't removal of equipment be handled like that, or the Andy Backpack?
ExtracTioN 0 Posted July 15, 2004 For teaser there will be no animated goggles or takeoff gasmask. In final version I try to make everything work like takeoff swimmgear, gasmask, goggles, nightvission and other things
ExtracTioN 0 Posted July 15, 2004 Maybe I add a option for take off clothes and whoila a Seal in his naked butt Nah j/k
FerretFangs 0 Posted July 15, 2004 Hmmm. That might be fairly effective in combat, for a second or two. The badguys might be briefly shocked to see a naked dude, and while laughing, get's their heads blown off by the naked SEAL's buddies hiding in the bushes. Nah, on second thought, let's keep the clothes on.
Jackal326 1181 Posted July 15, 2004 For wearing/removing the NVGs/Helmets/whatever its just a matter of using the 'setobjecttexture' command. If you'll recall I had an animated gasmask (could be worn and taken off) in my old SRT Pack, which I never got around to finishing. The perfect example I can think of for best use of setobjecttexture is the UK Forces DPM pack, with all the combinations of beret, helmet, goggles, etc.
Messiah 2 Posted July 15, 2004 just the berets and helmets (para net on helmet), not the goggles... we have more planned for the setobjecttexture stuff with our dessert pack
FerretFangs 0 Posted July 15, 2004 ......or the SEALs, because they are a "do it all" type of outfit. When you take into account they could HALO from 40,000 feet up, into the ocean, and scuba the last few miles for the insert, they really need a script like that. ExtracTioN 0 Posted July 15, 2004 Well most off the Seal units will be able to swim
FerretFangs 0 Posted July 15, 2004 Well, that rocks. SEALs should at least be able to swim. Using them as divers who can use the seas surrounding the islands to come and go, adds a whole new dimension for mission makers. In real life, when SEALs start taking heavy fire, they return it in kind, and haul ass for the ocean if possible. They are trained to use the ocean as a means of escape, and safe place to run to when the tactical situation goes south.

Drill Sergeant 0 Posted July 16, 2004 Amazingly that dental appointment took longer then I thought.. I'm working on the CH46 which only needs final side fins, back ramp and the uper part of the rear engine cowling. After that I can evalute the weapons. Back to work, which between other things, is going rigtht along.

Navy_SEAL 0 Posted July 17, 2004 hey guys, I know a lot of information you could use for the SEALs you are making. I also have a lot of pictures of SEALs that i could give you. I have some pictures i could scan on my computer too of patchs for a dress uniform if you make some SEALs with their dress blues and whites. My uncle was on SEAL Team 1 and 2. He served for 22 years as a SEAL . I have a bunch of patchs he recieved while being in the service.

Navy_SEAL 0 Posted July 17, 2004 I could send them to interested people. But i don't want to put them on the forum. I have a S.T.A.B.S. patch, Task Force 116, Dive patch, I'm sure you have all seen the SEAL Team patchs, I have his Sniper patch which is my favorite one. He let me have a trident also. I keep it all in a display case in my room with my grandfathers WWII medals.

Navy_SEAL 0 Posted July 17, 2004 Oh, The SEALs usually do shave their heads. But in order to fit in more with the People over in other countries they try to grow their hair like them. And SEALs don't always use their own Gear. THey will use other countries gear and weapons if they don't want them to know that the U.S. Is involved in something. SEAL Team Six makes their own custom weapons. I know a lot of stupid little facts about the Teams.
Navy_SEAL 0 Posted July 17, 2004 i don't know if you guys remember the USNavyMod. I used to work for them but most of the members went on active duty and haven't been able to do anything with the mod. I'm tryin to get a hold of them so i can get the files. We had a working Aircraft carrier and Submarines. We also had a very nice helo that was almost finished. We were going to start our own SEAL units but everyone in the mod left. MSpencer 0 Posted July 18, 2004 ST6 got disbanded. And yeah, AK47s and weapons used by indiginous personnel are commonly used on operations.
Rishon 0 Posted July 18, 2004 Yep, Spencer is right about that. AK's are used quite a bit, Although many SEALs perfer the M4A1 SOPMOD, because it is "Theirs" or something like that. Thats what I've been told by SEALs anyway..
MSpencer 0 Posted July 18, 2004 That all depends on the type of op though.
Navy_SEAL 0 Posted July 18, 2004 The U.S. made a version of the AK. They called it hte model 56 or something .I can't remember.
