with the 2 20mm, 40mm and 105mm..

Ok even if they didn't used this version its better to have this model in your nam missions than having no AC-130 model ;)

Or did someone already made the Spectre (not only a pre beta or something like that)

Greets,

Charon

edit: they used this version of the c-47 in nam

You know, this just makes my day, I mean really.:O

I've been asking for a '-130 gunship for YEARS now, and thought it would never happen due to the limitations of the game engine, and that experienced modders said it just couldn't be done. And yet, here it is? And you have to ask whether or not you should finish it? Are you sick??? You HAVE to finish it! It's so important to modern special operations, that it's ludicrous to NOT have it as an option.

How did you get it to work? Is the model accurate, and representative of the real plane? Can you model other SPECOPS -130's such as the MC-130H, HC-130N, EC-130J, etc?

You should know, my brother is an active duty member of the USAF SOCOM, and a hydraulics specialist, and crew chief on various SOCOM -130 varients. He'd be an excellent source of information, when he's not overseas doing spooky stuff with tough characters, to bad guys in sandy places. blues.gif

Anyway, please keep us informed.  wink_o.gif

try a search on OFPEC for spooky and you can try out alittle something. But it is great for someone to be doing a 130 gunship.

I tried that, and got a silly camera script. Are you referring to the plane?

it actual works in OFP..

it is still under limits IE you can't fly it for a mission..

the model is rough.

it uses scripts to simulate the firing of the weapons.

it is based off that ACH-47 but uses a AC-130 Model that flys at realistic alts and the shots actual come from the plane and it orbits the area.. my hope is that all the scripts will be in the main pboand jsut a simple code pbe placed ont he player for him to either use map click targeting or laser. and do more then just one mission.. etc.. the model needs tweaking since right now it is jsut a c-130 with the guns sticking out the sides. tho alot better then my first verision.. and maybe i will try to get this to be usable in CoC's UA.. but snce it does nto really have weapons.. but who knows.. but it does work and looks very impressive to see it target and fire on the groudn troops and armour..

Awesome! Keep up the hard work. And don't be afraid to ask other mod teams for help and assitance. Perhaps Footmunch, and MCAR might provide usefull insights in finishing the addon.

And don't forget to ask me for any technical information, regarding the actual aircraft. I've spent my life studiying military equipment/tactics/history, have much real life experience, and as I said, my brother actually works on these planes.

Neat. Looks untextured? And I'd like to see the other side, where the guns are.

Thanks!

i will post an image of the AC-130 later tonight

it is based on Hawk's C-130 since his had the best flight model for a gunship. wierd but it was the only one that would work right. others would jsut circle and circle and never fire or turn right. very very weird cuz I tried the Lost brothers' C-130 but it jsut did not fly correctly for a gunship..

PS:

AC-47 is Spooky armed with twin miniguns in 7.62 ammo

AC-130 is Spooky II armed with 7.62 mini guns, 20mm, 40mm, and 105mm cannons

AC-130U is armed with one 25mm Gatling, one 40mm Bofors, and one 105mm M101. It was proposed to carry eight Hellfires, but this has been cancelled.

MC-130 also carries/drops the BLU-82B Commando Vault, aka "Daisy Cutter". It's also the delivery platform for the GBU-43/B MOAB, aka "Mother Of All Bombs".

I bring this up in the event you might model this weapon too. Makes more sense than a nuclear weapon in OFP.

I think that's an excellent suggestion. I wish I could do something else other than provide technical knowledge, and beta testing.

But it is what it is, you know? I'm a daddy of an two year old, and I don't have any modeling experience.

You can download a video of the MOAB test HERE. It is pretty interesting.
