Skewballzz 0 Posted June 17, 2004 I've watched this community tear itself apart with the flashpoint.cz comment system. Now another problem... Anyone notice how this community is so hostile, yet so friendly at the same time. On to my point. If you would like to promote the general welfare of games other than OFP, please reply to this. All I am going for is for people to become tolerant of other games. Yes, you can not like other games, but all I ask is that people see games as an outlet for fun (ok, start the whole "how is running around throwing nades fun" comments...). I just wish I could see a forum where the majority of its members would get their heads out of their butts and realize there will be a game (other than OFP2) that will be better than OFP in some aspect. OFP3 OFP2 Resistance OFP 3.1 OFP 3.12 OFP 3 Lniux OFP2 Gold collection Tolerant about other games? Hell give me a game that I can play for 3-4 years without getting slightly bored of the graphics or addons. Not even a single game published this year has the potential to keep me entertained for more than a few months. See it this way. quicksand 0 Posted June 17, 2004 I haven`t seen any of the problems that you mentioned in this community.Yes some people tend to be more critical when it comes to other games,this is Operation Flashpoint forum hence comparations are bound to happen. Second of all I would love to see a game better then OF.But to be so it has to have atleast the same level of freedom(huge maps,more then one way to finish a mission),gameplay(good interface,fairly good AI)all in one game(tank commander,pilot,soldier, etc).So tell me how many games that you know achieved this until now?I don`t think it`s anyones fault but the producers of most of the games who make them only thinking about the cash and frankly you feel that when you play their games. Here are some other games that I really enjoyed in no particular order: Deus Ex 1(absolutley loved the game played it night and day)The Longest Journey(fantastic adeventure) Syberia1-2( close to TLJ standards) Star Wars:Knights of the old Repunlic(this was suposed to be the movie right?) Elder Scrolls:Morrowind(overall excelent RPG with a few lacking places) Legacy of Kain series(The storyline blows you away) Hitman series(for all your stealthy neeeds) Redline(old game surprised that you could drive cars) Crusaders of Might&Magic(God knows why I played this game but for some reason I really wanted to finish it) Duke Nukem 3D(old times,anyone can understand why) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

There's quite a lot of threads about other games here in the Offtopic section from Forgotten Battles to my late EVE Online thread where it was clearly visible that the tolerance for other stuff is already there. [heretic mode]One cannot play OFP all the time![/heretic mode] If you're worried about games like Battlefield, etc. Well, many people simply don't like these. As OFP is aimed at a quite different audience compared to these it isn't surprising to find here a majority of people who can't stand them. And off course they voice their opinion. The story was very professionally written; the Cutscenes were created beautifully, and created a very good atmosphere. Playing it was fun and exciting, just like watching "God father" or so. Downsides with Mafia (which imo could be the best single player game ever) *Too short. *No Support for editing, what so ever. *No real community, just a couple of inactive fan sites. Placebo 29 Posted June 17, 2004 As this is a forum for Operation Flashpoint most people here are Opf fans and will apply some bias because of that, however as far as I'm aware and as far as I've noticed over the years top quality games will get the praise they deserve, while less quality games will not.
