Nomex Delta

Recommended Posts

I know one thing. The delta looks better in nomex than in camouflage. In camouflage, the shirt hangs down from underneath the vest as the bas deltas, the deltas rarely ever tuck those hot things in, they let them hang. A nomex flight suit has nothing to hang its just one suit so this thing is pretty accurate. Plus, not many people have done any units in nomex. BAS has their seals in the works who use nomex. jackal from sjb studios planned on making marines in nomex but deleted his work to start all over and hasn't restarted yet. I was about to uninstall ofp because i couldn't wait but thanks to you i don't have to. This nomex idea is great. On a sidenote, those new military uniforms are completely zipped up like nomex suits aren't they? that would make the first delta with the camo flight suit accurate then if thats true. In my opinion BAS has the best cqb weapons around, i wish that their weapons were used for this, maybe the m4 mk, the mp5, and the m4 with different scopes on each. Now this will go good with that new city island that is coming out real soon by usmc sniper.

i woulda wished this addon was'nt just one simple guy, cmon expand.. make these units use weapon from S&E, or BAS's weapons.. or INQ's.. (PAA of course)

I'd rather use INQ's weapons as default for these units if any.

I don't see whats so great about INQ's weapons, they're much like BAS's in terms of being over-sized, where-as the Marine Assault Pack M4's seem to be about right in terms of scale, espiecally when you look at a number of real life pictures of the weapon being used (I have a damn good one, but its a little too large to post up here.)

Which begs the question, would it be hard to modify the Marine Assault Pack M4's (provided permission was given) to bring them up to SOPMOD standard (AN/PEQ-2, Forward Hand Grip etc.), and further on des cam them?

In turn these would be nice for the Desert Tan Nomex Delta Operators  biggrin_o.gif

Give them 10.5" barrels and I'll give you candy. wink_o.gif

U should find a good texturer. I have some nice desert textures for M4. I am a poor one.

Well I haven't really done anything like modeling before and such, but if I can get permission from Earl & Suchey to modify their M4's I can certainly give it a try. I mean, how hard could modeling a AN/PEQ-2 be, let alone the Front Hand Grip anyway (provided I can find some decent tutorials and such.) And in turn I could "donate" them for use with the Desert Tan Nomex Delta.

The M-4's on average could be a little smaller, but when one is comparing the above photos, one should keep in mind that those two operators in front look like pretty big dudes. Particularly the one in front with the radio, that guy could be at least six and half feet tall.

Freaking scary looking MOFOS!

There are some sopmod m4's in SJB's Tears of the pack. I use them as substitutes. Works quite well.

Arch.

Yeah they aren't too bad, but I think I might also do some other variations of the Marine Assault Pack M4 aswell, not just SOPMOD versions of the Aimpoint/ACOG/Reflex versions, might do a Elcan "Wildcat"

Well I'd like to help you out Sgt. Stryker mate, but as I've never really done any 3d modeling or anything like that before, the quality of them would be pretty poor, though I should be able to do a decent job on smaller modifications to existing models, at least I hope so.

Edit: I've mailed Earl, hopefully he gives me permission to modify the M4's *crosses fingers* biggrin_o.gif

ahh going a bit too far with the shortened barrel.. its already eough work just retexturing them.. but then to edit the model. besides what are the benefits of a short barrel in real life??? doesnt that decrease range?

Decreased velocity, which is a serious problem for the 5.56mm NATO round. This is the reason for less than acceptable combat lethality for the 5.56mm SS109. This is best overcome through the use of a larger caliber, heavier grained round, such as the 6.8mm, 7.62x39mm, and 7.62x51mm. However, range still suffers with decreased velocity, despite the increased knock-down capability. Bullpup designs are best for assault rifles of this class, because they allow for full length barrels in a more compact weapon.

On the other hand, in a non-bullpup design, a shortened barrel is vital for CQB, firing the weapon from enclosed spaces such as vehicles, and is less cumbersome for the shooter.

Bullpup rifles chambered for 6.8mm and up is the way to go. Not many to select from though.

All of the Seal teams Cut down the Barrels, Also, they do not Decrease range, they decrease Accuracy, but as you know MANY Spec Ops and Black Ops teams do not go into long-range, drawn out fire-fights, they attack swiftly and quickly, leaving no-one standing.

Hey would it be hard to stick a 9mm clip in the m4 and make that wierd ass 9mm colt? Would be nice for CQB so you bullets wont go through your enemies and hit the hostages.
